That’s fine, as long as the connection continues to only go in one direction and nothing ever comes of it in FIM. Monkey business should stay in Monkeyworld, and the show should keep right on pretending the movies don’t exist for the sake of its own stories.

Look Before You Sleep is an incredibly underrated episode  
It really is; it’s highly unusual to get such an important character establishment/development episode that early in a series, but it showed off both the weaknesses and strengths of the main characters and set the tone for how they would interact for the rest of the series.
 
Also Angryjack in a frou-frou dress and Cannonballjack bouncin’ Rarity right up out the bed are still two of the funniest moments in Season 1.

Enter’s list didn’t even put it in the top 5, which was 5. May the Best Pet Win!, 4. One Bad Apple, 3. Boast Busters, 2. Dragon Quest, and 1. Putting Your Hoof Down, but truth be told he messed up on that last one by starting at 1 instead of 5 from what I’ve read.
 
Out of curiosity, what’s the worst Season 6 episode? According to fan consensus it’s Applejack’s “Day” Off…

Equestria Girls has never counted as canon to Friendship is Magic and I still don’t think it ever will.
 
There’s a scene between Twilight and Spike in “Equestria Games” that completely contradicts the first Equestria Girls movie (and by extension the entire series itself) as having never happened. I don’t think it was done on purpose, but because the writers don’t have to take other sources like Equestria Girls or the comics into account when making new episodes. Regardless, the results are the same… the Equestria Girls movies are non-serial movies and thus not canon.
 
There’s the pony Flash Sentry cameos in season four, but all that proves is that a pony Flash Sentry exists, not that any of Equestria Girls actually happened. And the backlash was fairly strong even with this “crossover” that there haven’t been any Equestria Girls references since, even slight ones (aside from Trixie’s peanut butter crackers line).
 
If there will be a crossover then it’ll only be one way, within Equestria Girls. But I don’t think it’s going to happen in “Mirror Magic” because it’s only 22 minutes long… it’s more likely they’d save something like that for a feature-length special.

I haven’t watched Season 6 yet. Though I can say that as far as Season 5 goes, Brotherhooves Social has to be my least favorite.

Back to the Unpopular Opinions: I wish that Equestria Girls was canon to FiM. Having the world of Equestria be connected to other universes opens up a lot of potential stories, and not just with the human world. The biggest one that comes to mind is a story of Twilight being forced to jump between multiple alternate worlds just to get back to Equestria, akin to how we got the multiple potential timelines from The Cutie Re-Mark.

Twilight says something to Spike like “The last time you were here you saved an entire Empire!” and Spike acknowledges it. The problem with that is that the first Equestria Girls movie takes place in-between seasons three and four, and that was the last time Spike was in the Crystal Empire. But according to Twilight and Spike, the last time he was there was way back at the start of season three (except for that mishap with the pets, that Twilight doesn’t know about).
 
So that is a problem for continuity.
