If the focus was on the games themselves, would there actually be a story?

I would like an episode with Starlight with the rest of the Mane 6.

Edit: Because I couldn’t read, what I meant to say is, I’d love to see that happen, since she is overdue for an episode with someone other than Twi.

What is it with the Wonderbolts being so incompetent or rude?
It’s not their show, so there’s no narrative impetus to show them in a complete light as well rounded and developed characters, or to let them be the ones who save the day. I don’t think that’s the right path– they’re Dash’s second team now, they should really get the same level of development as The Apple Family or The Pie Sisters– but it’s why they’re not exactly presented as the superheroes they seem to be in-universe.

Don't lose your way!
Queen Chrysalis isn’t the best villain in my opinion, I still prefer Discord as the best.

>Pie Sisters
>Developed
Marble’s about as developed as the Simpson Desert* and Limestone’s not much better
*And in this case I mean “developed” as in “urban”

Discord is still my favorite villain. Not a surprise since villains like Bill Cipher, The Joker and Kefka are some of my favorite villains.

Maud makes up for it, though.

I like Discord as a Recovering Assaholic a heck of a lot more than I liked him as a straight up Villain; I never thought he quite fit as an openly malicious bastard in Return Of Harmony, he just seemed out of place in FIM.

Not quite. He was evil in a “fuck it I’ll do what I want”. He wanted to have fun and do what he likes, and is not above treating ponies as dirt to get his amusement.
I don’t know, I just like characters that enjoy what they do.

It was just so cheap, though; his arbitrary shittiness in ROH felt like it didn’t belong in a show that’s constructed as a moral instruction fairytale. It wasn’t just that he was Evil, it’s that he was cheating to be evil, and in this sort of show cheating should be reserved for Cheater characters– like Flim and Flam– or made the focus of the moral instruction, like “don’t cheat, only Villains do that”.

Well, evil characters often cheat after all. I must admit I’m having a hard time digesting what you say because I don’t think is………I honestly don’t understand at all to be fair.

Can’t this be applied to most villains besides Starlight and NMM?
