Here’s a theory about queen bee. If she’s as per old bible lore a lesser angel that joined lucifer’s rebellion what if she did so because she was a guy at the time but was secretly trans?

It might be that a lot of the cast are 6+ feet tall twigs with bowties. I do agree we could use some more diverse body types in our regulars, though obviously Niffty, Vaggie, and Husk do provide some difference because short.

Gotta be honest, I never understood the ‘overdesigned’ complaint. A complex design being animated is very impressive to me. I concede there are some cluttered designs out there, but Hellaverse’s been quite good at avoiding too much unnecessary detail. It’s why they ditched the gradient in Husk’s eyebrows from the Pilot, for example. If I had to point out the busiest design Viv ever came up with it’d definitely be Beelzebub, and even then I consider it solid, though admittedly there is a lot going on there. Background extras being unique is also a plus in my book.

It’s more that they’re over-designed than anything.

People claim that all the Hazbin Hotel characters look the same, but I guarantee you could give me a lineup of the characters in silhouette and I’ll correctly guess exactly who each one is. Isn’t that, like, the principle everyone cites for good character design?
