I have no idea how you managed to get a 2000×2000 PNG from the links I provided — maybe my reading comprehension is off but according to the instructions in the very first post there shouldn’t have been a way to get it from DA because the image is newer than April ’19 and Twitter’s =orig gave me a JPEG — but I am grateful nonetheless.

you just download the similar pictures, zoom into the exact same spot on both pics, and try to determine which has the better quality.
 
Though in at least twitter’s case (last two links), it just looks like the same image from the same source. copy/paste this link https://twitter.com/RocketLawnchArt/status/1221243625872355329 into the “fetch” box, click the “fetch” button, and tag & upload like normal.

What’s the procedure with posts where there are multiple candidates for updating? e.g.:

I’d started reporting them for updating but there are enough of them that it’d be a misuse of the report function to do it for all of them.
