I’ve always wondered why people use “OC” for characters out of universes they cut out of whole cloth, or at least aren’t affiliated with an existing one. If you’re developing a whole story around it, why not own that fact?

We really need to change the title and add “MLP OCs only” so as to avoid this confusion in the future, please? (Or better yet, pin both threads because I don’t have any MLP-based OCs, all of mine aren’t from any copyrighted universe)
