Edit: maybe I could get away with filtering out “human to pony” and the like, maybe some complex filter stuff along that line too

Yeah I’m cool with those kinds you show. It’s indeed that more standard fetishy depiction that I don’t like, where you have body parts that are hybrid before/after and uneven. It feels like body horror to me, when I kinda just care about what happens before and after, if at all. I wish there was a way to filter those out while keeping the “poof! transformed” or post-TF kind of images.

For transformation images (non-sequence in particular), are there tags either for mid-TF or post-TF scenes? The kind of images where characters visibly morph is kinda icky to me, but the other stuff tagged as transformation can be neat, so I don’t wanna filter it all out.

What is the reasoning behind this line in the gallery editor?

As I interpret it, galleries with any NSFW need to be marked as such, which doesn’t make sense to me because filters exist.

I noticed >>3294059 had a different style than others under artist:_simosha and that it was signed “stellarsleep”, which was suspicious. What I then noticed was that all old images on _simosha’s Twitter are signed “stellarsleep” while the new ones (starting April 2022) are signed “@_simosha”. And looking at all their art together, there looks to be continuity in their artstyle.

I’m not sure which way to take it. Probably into “game:” because it looks like some other fan game tags do that, and it’s the more popular tag.

I’m sorry, but I have hundreds of tags hidden on this site and a long complex filter and yet lots of garbage still gets through. I’m talking like DeviantArt-quality edits and stuff that’s simply not tagged (SFM stuff is a big one for me). I still see Derpibooru as the best site for pony art, but browsing images can be a real pain sometimes, and I imagine most people have much fewer if any tags filtered so it just makes the whole site look crummy.

Thinking about it, probably just “in (a) christmas stocking” for the tag. Don’t need tags for each species, especially when the vast majority are ponies.

Random tag idea: ponies (and non-ponies?) in Christmas stockings. It’s a pretty common theme, but not sure what to call it.

This should really really be done. I’ve been using this site for many years and I still can’t keep straight whether particular tags are x-betes, dia-x, adora-x, cute-x, or whatever.

It seems to me that most “commissioner:” tags are added by the uploader/commissioner themselves, I assume for either their own organizational purposes or to take partial credit for the image. I imagine some do get good use for filtering though, if there’s a running theme that individual tags don’t quite capture.

So a couple times lately I’ve had to tag commission on images that already have commissioner tags. Now, I’ve always been a bit leery of commissioner tags (and I know I’m not alone on this), but they’re increasingly ingrained in the site’s tagging. I think it may be time that these tags automatically imply “commission”, in the same way that all OC tags automatically imply “oc” even though it’s generally not a listed implication under these tags.

Edit: there are many more images than I expected that are tagged with commissioner tags but not commission. In fact, they account for a majority of all images tagged with “commissioner:” (5207 out of 9539 at the time of posting).

This actually came to mind because someone posted >>3214274 (merged) on Discord and I followed the link here and noticed I had it hidden (I have TYT screencaps complex filtered out). The image had “screencap” on it but now doesn’t. So I suppose your assumption was correct in my case, and now I think I agree. Could perhaps use clarification in the descriptions of one or both tags?

Should screencap reference imply screencap, or is “screencap” meant only for images where the screencap is the focus? The images in the description of “screencap reference” have never had the screencap tag, though many of the images under “screencap reference” are also tagged as screencap.

This is maybe a little tangential, but pictures of butts seems to follow the template of pictures of legs, a tag for images focused on legs, typically cropped screencaps. “pictures of butts” is practically all cropped screencaps. That said, butt focus and butt only also exist, with more images. My sense is that “pictures of butts” could either be aliased to one of those, or be defined as a tag for butt crops and imply at least one of those tags; and “butt only” could imply “butt focus”.

More on topic, I don’t see why “i watch it for the ears” shouldn’t be a tag, even if the name isn’t directly referencing anything.

I feel like that isn’t the first case of something like that happening. That’s a good case for just going with “cute [character]” as the main tag.

Honestly, if I were king, I don’t know if I’d keep them at all. Searching “[character], cute” should suffice, and cute tags are very arbitrarily applied anyway, so we could probably do with fewer of those.

Agreed. I assume some people like the pun tags, but trying to remember whether that character has a pun on “cute” or “diabetes” or anything else and in what form isn’t fun. I second making “cute [character]” an alias to the existing tags.
