Except for the very few cases where a mare is shown with a young foal, or has some kind of infection, pronounced mammaries on a mare are anatomically incorrect.

Nah, teats should as those are the actual anatomically correct ones. Those I also don’t feel anything should imply that tag as it’s meant to stand for horsecunts.

Ah, heh. Correctness, as you say, needs to be judged on a case by case basis. Basically, it is easy to catch tropes like crotchboobs, frontgina, who needs organs? and such as bad anatomy, but impossible to state that their absence is good anatomy.

Though that can still cause issues on images of realistically styled teats where people would tag it crotchboobs and it then gets anatomically incorrect implied onto it.
 
And you know people wouldn’t be removing the bad tags.

Well that’s their issue. People remove unfitting tags all the time.

True. But in this case I think it might be better to not have it implied. Because there will be people ignoring it. Or asking the the comments what’s making a picture anatomically incorrect, etc. Also might be easier and more reliable to just mass-tag the crotchboobs with anatomically incorrect every week or so for pics missing it.

I also think this really doesn’t need the implication. It seems fairly self-evident to me that no actual horse would have teats that look like that, just the same as male equines wouldn’t have the cartoonish “untapered cylinder with a medial ring” penis that’s become widely accepted in fanart.

Crotchboobs aren’t nearly as ubiquitous as the fanon horsedong, however.

It has less to do with that and more to do with where the “anatomically incorrect” tag should apply. It’s true that crotchboobs aren’t as widely accepted, however, they are particular to the fandom. That’s because ultimately, crotchboobs are an extremely specific and subtle form of anthropomorphism - making equine teats more closely resemble human breasts. That’s why I think it being “incorrect” is already implicit, the same way things like ponies with eyebrows and front legs that can rotate upwards are incorrect.
