Remove alias homosexual from gay // gay and lesbian should imply homosexual

At the current state homosexual is an alias for gay, which is… restrictive and excluding other homosexual pairings - such as lesbian. Homosexual should rather be implied by gay and lesbian. Also keep in mind that there are technically even more forms that could count as homosexual - homosexual shouldn’t be used as alias for any of its sub-groups.
 
Remove Alias:  
-homosexual → gay
 
Add Implications:  
gay → homosexual  
lesbian → homosexual
 
Add Alias:  
homosexuality → homosexual
 
Add Description:  
Homosexuality describes the romantic attraction or sexual acts between members of the same sex or gender.

Edit: Yes, I am aware gay is a synonym for homosexual, but I don’t think that this will ever happen here. The page for gay states “male on male” being an alias of gay. I tagged lesbian stuff as homosexual before, which got converted to gay, which says it would be exclusively male on male. That basically shows that staff thinks that lesbians aren’t homosexual content.
 
A male/male, female/male, female/female, futa/female, female/futa, futa/futa, and so on, would actually be an even better system.

The entire content of discussions about this in the IRC is describable as “hurr durr gay is the same as homosexual”. Even though Derpi’s tag system limits it to male on male specifically.  

Only one (and even then only on Derpi): futa on futa.

Well, technically ‘Gay’ is indeed synonymous for ‘homosexual’, but I guess it’s used as male-only here because there’s not really any other word available for a male version of “lesbian”…
 
Though having “homosexual” only mean “male + male” is dumb, so yea, I’m in favour.

I broadly agree with @Nyerguds – technically, gay and homosexual do mean the same thing, but gay does tend to be used for m/m pairings/homosexual men specifically, and in any case “male on male” and “homosexual” as synonyms is… less than ideal.

I personally think making it a catch-all tag for both is redundant and a waste of space and would need tagged on thousands of images.

Waste of space is equating homosexual with gay. Also, it doesn’t need human distinction so “tagging it on thousands of images” would be about as long as it takes someone to write a “if image has gay or lesbian, add homosexual” script.

There is no actual homosexual tag used so far, they all got converted to gay anyways.  
If lesbian and gay imply homosexuality, it would be automated too.

Well, that’s kind your fault for not looking up tags ahead of time and not just tagging lesbian to begin with…
 
Also, no, the tags are fine, you just need to use them properly. I don’t think homosexual even needs to be a tag at all.
