My image was wrongfully taken down

It said that it violated rule #3 but I strongly disagree. I hope that an organizer read this and we can resolve this issue.

It looks like a valid takedown to me. Rule 3 states that adding a pony to a low effort meme does not make the image pony related.

I’m sorry, but that is not true - yours was the first and only image that has ever appeared on this site related to the “Lord Farquaad” meme - you had to invent the tag on the site to add it.

So, there are not “thousands of memes” on the site like the one you posted.

Again, you pasted a crudely cropped image of “Lord Farquaad” on a screencap and added some text. We don’t want to host it. I’m sure there’s communities and sites that would be very happy to host it.

I’m sorry, but I would never compare your image to that image. I honestly don’t feel you should be saying that your image was comparable. But, I was talking about the “lord farquaad/markiplier e” tag that you added. It doesn’t matter what tags you add, we’d rather not host that image you uploaded.

I’m sure there are a lot of other sites where you can host it, if you want to use it in comments or something like that.

@Brony T
If creating art is something you would like to do, then perhaps if you took some classes your skills would improve. And there are a lot of free online videos you can watch to get better.

As Lauren Faust said, everyone has 1,000 shitty images in them, and the only way to get to the good art is go get all the shitty art out of their system. So start drawing - if you draw one image a day in 3 years you’ll be great! Or, at least, greater.

I suspect this is not going to be very helpful, but we’re here to host My Little Pony fanart and screencaps and photographs and things that are related to the franchise.

Memes that exist solely for being memes are not a good fit - it’s not why we’re here, and unless it’s something that is historically important to the fandom or it’s something that is a very good example of a particular kind of meme, then there’s absolutely no guarantee that it will be hosted. And if the only way the image “fits” on this site at all is that it’s been cropped and pasted onto an image of a pony, then it’s probably going to be deleted.

So if you absolutely want to make sure that something you upload here will be hosted, then fanart of the show is the best way to do it.

And memes are one of the worse ways to do it.

That’s why I’m suggesting a different site might be a better fit for what you are creating. There are sites that really love memes and will host them no matter what.

If you keep making memes and uploading them here, then Rule #3 is going to always be a potential problem. But there are sites that don’t focus on My Little Pony the way we do - sites that focus on the meme, not the franchise - and those might be a better fit for what you are creating.

For me, and this is just me because of who I am, I think the most important thing is that you want to be creative and create things that others will enjoy.

So far, you’ve uploaded a bunch of images that weren’t taken down, and some of them seem to be fairly popular. But the latest image you uploaded got deleted and that surprised you - you weren’t expecting that.

And running into those kinds of barriers can be very difficult when someone is trying to find their voice in art.

It’s not that your image wasn’t good - it’s that the gallery you tried to show it in didn’t accept it.

That’s not a statement of the quality of your art, only the quality of the match between what you created and where you tried to show it.

There’s a lot of sites that don’t do that kind of “Will we host this?” step when you post things. Places like Facebook or Twitter or any of the *Chans would be very happy to host that image, without question.

So, that’s why I’m suggesting that if you want to make those kinds of images, you will find a much more accepting and welcoming audience on some other sites.

And when you make things that are more firmly “Pony”, then this is a place where those images have been well received, too.

And my main concern is that because you asked to have something hosted here and it was rejected you will not pursue your interests with art - you should keep making art. At whatever level you are able to, you should find a way to express yourself and if that includes showing the art to others then you should present those images where they will be welcomed.

That doesn’t mean everything you create isn’t welcome here - just some of it isn’t. And that just means you need to explore your audience and your “market” and the available options for showing your creations so that you find a better fit.

Does that make any sense? Or help explain better what’s going on here?

Goodbye guys ;)
More of my images were removed!

I don’t know why, but for all five of my crystal rainbow power ponies that I uploaded - Pinkie Pie (2 vectors),Rainbow Dash (1 vector), Rarity (1 vector), and Fluttershy (1 vector) - the crystallized version got taken down! Only the non-crystallized version and the SVG file version are left? Don’t people realize that someone may want to download the crystallized high-resolution PNG and not the SVG file or non-crystallized version? That’s why I posted them.

This is very discouraging, when you take the time to post all the various versions for convenience and then some get removed just because they look like another version. THOSE SVG IMAGES ARE TINY PREVIEWS, NOT ACTUAL PNG IMAGES! How many times do I have to state this?

Now I must put that in the description to keep it from being removed, and yet it gets removed anyway?! :(

I have seen several images with two versions (low-resolution and high-resolution) on Derpibooru before, example: and (these two are the best example - they are even the same exact resolution!), and , and , and

If these weren’t marked as “duplicates,” neither should mine. Whoever uploaded these had the same intentions I did: to post multiple versions for viewers’ convenience, instead of just one version that everyone may not necessarily prefer. In other words, if my images from just a few weeks ago were removed, the staff should have done the same to these images years ago. There was no valid reason to take those images I posted down, since they didn’t violate any of our site rules or contradict them. And those images were not the ones I specifically requested a takedown of.

Someone really needs to check into this. This is now the second time that this has happened. I contacted the staff before, but it wasn’t resolved (the deleted image restored). I don’t want to waste my time posting if what I post just gets deleted for appearing to be a duplicate, when in reality it is just the high-resolution PNG version of an SVG file with a similar-looking preview.

@Bravewind commented on >>2242902 (one of my removed ones that I reuploaded), and I quote:
If you’re looking for a reason to have it kept, additionally mention that it’s reflected on the vertical axis maybe? If it helps

And he’s exactly right. Most of my removed images were flipped to avoid the “marked as a duplicate” problem, but I guess that came to naught.
