Note: this is just my first short fanfic. Forgive me if there are several grammar errors and mistakes. I know I’m not really good at writing stories.

Time: takes place sometimes after Mirror Magic
At one night, Starlight had a dream about her and Sunburst. She wakes up and stares at the night sky; after a silence, she realizes that she still misses him - even though they already reunited in good terms. She needs to be more closer to her lost friend
The next morning, Starlight proceeds to travel to Crystal Empire to spend some quality time with Sunburst. She goes to his house and he allows her to spend the day there, much to her delight.
The two have quality time together, learning some magic, discussing about friendship lessons and traveling around the Empire. After some time, the two spend a night together, reading books and having a slightly loving moment.
At midnight…
Sunburst embraces Starlight on his hooves and tells his deep confession about his past; He admits that after he left for magic school, he had attempted to contact her by visiting to his hometown many times, only to find out she’s already gone and he can’t find her anymore - it was too late for him. Starlight begins to react emotionally at this confession, and she felt a little tear trickling down her eyes. Sunburst, who also start dripping tears, continues his story - saying that he was never meant to leave her alone but since she’s gone, he don’t know what to do about it and simply moved on continuing his studies. He starts to cry, and tearfully apologizes once again for losing touch and making her feel abandoned.
Reduced to tears, Starlight also confessed about her past, even telling her misdeeds and how the Mane Six taught her there’s another way, in which she feels more reinvigorated in new life. She wiped her small tears, and tells Sunburst it wasn’t his fault; it was her fault for overreacting and went too far after he left her behind
Sunburst still sobs over the confession, and Starlight calms him down, wiping his tears. The two warmly hug - with Sunburst saying that everything is going to be fine, and promise not to leave her again. Still hugging, they slowly fall asleep on the couch until next morning.
The next day, Starlight proceeds to go home and promises to stay much closer with Sunburst. The two hug again, and parted ways as she left on the train back to Ponyville. Back at the castle, Starlight tells Twilight about how she spend time with Sunburst. She also tells about his confession, to Twilight’s surprise. Twilight appreciates her efforts, that she had learned another friendship lesson by tying up loose ends with an old friend. Starlight herself is satisfied of what she was doing yesterday, rekindling a better friendship and finally letting go of the past.
BONUS: CONFESSION DIALOGUE
[that night at Sunburst’s house, on the living room]
SB: Umm, Starlight…
SG: Yes~
[Sunburst approaches her on the couch]
SB: Listen, I want to tell you something… I always wanted to tell you since we first reunited, but I don’t know the right time and I’m afraid it might remind you of your past
SG: Why? it’s fine, Sunburst. Just tell me all you wanted to. I’m okay
SB: Alright, then
[Sunburst started to embrace Starlight on his hooves, and slightly snuggled her mane. Starlight remain silent, but she lets out a little smile]
SB: So, I admit it… Ever since I went to Princess Celestia’s school, I’m a little worried about you when I left. I tried to visit your home, but you’re nowhere to be seen… Few months I visited it back, but still, there’s no sign of you. I realized that you’re gone, Starlight. I can’t find you anywhere. I was too late.
[Sunburst started to shed some tears. Starlight gasped, and she felt her eyes begin to wet]
SG: Really? So, you actually still care for me?
SB: I think so… But I couldn’t find you there. I thought I never see you again. To be honest, I was never meant to leave you behind! I don’t know what to do since you’re gone… And I just moved on to continue my studying without thinking of you anymore :(
[Sunburst bursts into tears and let out a soft cry. Starlight feels more tears soaking her eyes, and she showed a sad face to him]
SG: My goodness
SB: I’m sorry, Starlight, I’m REALLY sorry… for losing touch with you
[Sunburst keep crying and begin to hug her ]
SG: I know, I know. It wasn’t your fault. It was MY fault! for getting so bitter and over-reacting when you’re gone. I was WORST than you… so heartbroken that I manipulated an entire village and stripped off their cutie marks and talents into making them all equal. I was believing that cutie marks tore friendships apart! I’ve been a bad mare who ruined the talents of innocent ponies. But now, I’m on a better place. Twilight and her friends taught me how friendship is enriched by one another’s differences. That’s the magic of friendship. If Twilight didn’t stop me from my misdeeds, I would never meet you at all…
[The two stop crying, and wiped their tears as they calm down]
SB: I know what it’s like to have a shameful past. I do too
SG: Yeah. and thanks to Twilight, I could reunite with you. And it’s so good to have you back. I also thought we never see each other again :)
[They hug and cuddle]
SB: It’s on the past, Starlight. Everything is gonna be fine now. At least I still have you :)
