Alaskan senator Lisa Murkowski is apparently mulling leaving the GOP, or at the very least says she’s “done” with Trump.

Even if she goes independent, I imagine she’d still likely caucus with the GOP due to the Senates arcane ass rules. But, it would free her up to vote against her own party more often.

911 call centers, police, and prosecutors are using a pseudoscientific “call analysis” in court to charge people who call 911 to report a crime as the guilty party. Thanks to this and depending on which judge you’re brought before, you can be convicted of murder if you use the wrong tone, inflection, or word choice in the call.

For what it’s worth, I can understand why you’d think the worst in a situation like this. Your side has an unfortunate history of being the pawn sacrificed for some larger political goal, and after a while that sort of thing makes it really easy to assume it’s just another instance of being tossed under the bus. I just find it frustrating that so much of the media coverage on it has also focused on the one item that got through rather than all the much much worse ones that Democrats held their ground on and got tossed out.

Honestly, the november election really boils down to Gen Z and how many of them vote third-party. Like, I don’t wanna vote for Biden either but the alternative is horrifying.

Yup, and I really wish more people realized that. Cops keep arrest quotas, prosecutors keep conviction quotas. Then you have that one prosecutor in Florida who is obsessed with getting the death penalty for every case she brings to trial.

And while that’s going on, they’ve lost 2 more landing ships, 3 aircraft, and the Black Sea fleet’s communications center in Sevastopol after Ukraine sent some more Storm Shadow missiles to them. They had 5 of those landing ships left. Now they only have 3. I don’t think a navy has sustained this many losses since WW2.

I know it’s no where near the Black Sea, but I would love it if, somehow, Russia managed to lose their one and only carrier.

Like a Ukrainian sabotage mission taking it out or something. It would be an absolutely devastating loss.

Yes I realize it’d be a morale blow on paper, but I don’t think there’s anyone left in Russia that would feel the blow that wouldn’t also immediately forget about it because the angry people on the telly dangled a new shiny around.

This is true. The Admiral Kuznetsov has been docked for repairs since 2018, and its due date keeps getting pushed back by corruption and several accidents.

So instead of sinking it, the most beneficial thing Ukrainians could do would be to either droneswarm or sabotage it, damaging it and the surrounding docks and further delaying her return to service.

Anyway, anyone claiming that this is Ukraine or CIA clearly aren’t playing with a full deck of cards and clearly have an agenda. It’s clear that these men were radicalized by ISIS or other Islamic extremists to take up arms against Russia for a laundry list of reasons.

Also just as a reminder, Russia’s counter terror units are absolute dogshit. But don’t take my word for it, the SAS believed so as well. This incident is further proof of Russia’s incompetence

I think somebody else here already said it but it bears repeating: If President Pootis wasn’t so preoccupied with hunting down the gays and political opponents, the actual terrorists wouldn’t have openings to pull stuff like this.

Except none of that is true. At the last minute and just this hour the NY Appeals court ruled that Trump now has an extra 10 days to pay just $175 million bond to prevent asset seizure.
