These are not your politicians, these are not your leaders, your boss, your family, or your friends. Hell this isn’t even your barrista screwing up your coffee order.
This is someone somewhere said something and reality didn’t perfectly align with it. Lie, sure if that makes you feel better, but these are the “lies” that cannot be avoided. They are not deceptions they are things that merely occur.
And if a ‘discretion’ like this bothers you then your standards are the lies.
They’re not truth merely shallow literalism bereft of worth and understanding. It see’s great meaning where there is none, and doesn’t allow itself to forget… it is only inevitable it finds itself in a corner of its own making. The fault lies not on the party that commits the sin… but on those that haven’t gotten a clue that not everything someone says should be held to just because it was said.
They are only possible in an age of the internet and media saturation making causal statements a papal bull in ex cathedra. Because before that, people couldn’t hang on every word someone said. In a few decades when standards have caught up and people will realize they shouldn’t care.
(The world would work better should politicos figure this out too and get back to doing business not litmus tests of absolute purity)
Further more you are not the consumer. Fandom never is in any franchise, except living dead ones like actual comic books that a single movie can stirr more money then their whole industry. Any rebuttal to this should include actual numbers demonstrating if not majority then at least major like 30-40%. Otherwise its just sticking one’s head in the sand, you must acknowledge how small all fandoms ever really are. Which incidentially means that anything thrown to us… cannot be expected in a world of limited time and resources.
I just can’t bring myself to hate Flash. I blame the writers for using the fact that they had to shoehorn him in as an excuse to be lazy with his character.
While I didn’t get to see the entire episode, I saw him and went, “hey, cool, it’s flash sentry. Nice.” Seriously people, it’s a what, 5 second cameo of a character. It’s so sad when people get butthurt of these little things. No wonder this planet is turning to shit.
@Background Pony #5888
You are right. I overreacted a little. Just some bad memories of those dark days (Greg would straight up lie about all sorts of things). Like I said, I don’t mind Flash Sentry. In fact, I think with a little creativity, they could make something out of his character. I just don’t want to see the creators of this show going back on their word and lying about things. What happened here was not Meghan’s fault, so I say let bygones be bygones.
@SorasTG
The only thing I want to be entitled to is honesty. As I’ve stated, I’ve dealt with lying creators in the past who have taken the trust of their fandoms and stomped on them. Meghan is not one of those people. I just worry with all the miscomunication among the show’s creators that the trust of the fandom could be lost. And believe it or not, we are entitled to honesty and trust. We are consumers of the show. Most of us support the show, and it would be appreciated if we would receive that basic human need of honesty. I’m not saying the show betrayed that honesty (I admit I overreacted before), but we are entitled to that honesty, despite what you think.
Let It all burn out,sometimes tension need to be flared so that it doesn’t simmer subtlety for days.let it all out know and get it over with as quickly as possible.
@PonyPon
it’s just that i hate shitstorms.
Especially the pointless ones like this one, people will make the biggest deal about it and would constantly claim the apocalypse.
