Your assuming they watch it to pick out details, they watch it to make sure there are no major errors and it works out as planed, Flash being in this has not impact to it over all so it’s not like they are paying attention to who it is just that there isn’t any problem with him modal in the show, so as they watch it it’s just “one of the guard ponies”.

Honestly I hoped that it wasn’t going to be the case,but deep down I knew this was going to happen at least as a non speaking cameo because Meghan is not in charge of the direction.
 
And of curse a lot of people are blaming Meghan now while Jayson is the one that is responsible.

Do the production crew, including Meghan, not watch their own episodes before they ship them out? I’m pretty sure they do, considering they hype the shit out of every little scene (MUFFINZ, Rarity’s BEST PERFORMANCE, etc). So this scene would be kind of hard to miss for Meghan.

This makes the assumption that within show-canon, Flash didn’t exist. Flash could have been “there” and only brought in as the head of Cadance’s guard when they moved to Crystal Empire, ignoring all the events of EQG otherwise.
 
The only way that the EQG canon would have broken through is if there was any direct flirting (THIS WASNT) between he and Twilight, something only established in EQG.

So Meghan says Flash won’t appear. And then Flash appears. And then she points the finger at another member of the staff.  
Either she is trying to save face, or she has lost partial control of her own show (ex. Slenderpony, Grumpy Cat, and now this).

I’d have to disagree, especially since the ‘waifu thief’ one is often trying to antagonize people rather than just be silly and overdone. It has all of the problems of scootachikun or whatever, with the added problem of it being used to get a rise out of people. It also causes more arguing.

The problem is the implications his appearance in the show has. Saying EQG is alternate continuity is now almost a moot point, and it also opens the door for future appearances that may be more than just a quick background cameo.
