I always theorized that the reason we never see the human sunset in because the sunset we know actually Is the human sunset. Like, when she was a baby or a small child she accidentally fell through the portal and was stranded in equestria and celestia raised her as a pony because she was lonely and missed luna.
 
And yes, Twilights mind would be blown. Not that it takes much to blow her mind of course.

My personal crack theory is that Sunburst and Glimmer are Sunset Shimmer’s parents; through some sort of temporal shenanigans, Sunny got sent back a few decades, and Sunburst and Starlight got sent back a few millennia.

Starlight getting preferential treatment doesn’t mean the writers dislike trixie.  
Trixie is my favourite and I would actually prefer it if they didn’t make her too powerful or popular with the main characters and I definitely don’t want her to become overused.
 
Trixie is best used sparingly, maybe about the same as discord or maud.

Perhaps but since they’re trying to push Starlight and they took the time to establish them as BFFs I’m just saying a little bit more of Trixie down the road is a possibility in the vein of Maud Pie appearances.
