I lie all of them to be honest, their qwirks and mannerisms set them apart from one another, making them unique, even if they looked exactly the same. To be perfectly honest, he pandering can get a tad bit annoying, but she’s still adorable and fascinating character that I can’t hate, or even dislike.
Though the die hard fans of her, can be really obnoxious, with an over abundance of “ums” and “if that’s okay with you” is obnoxious after so damn many.
I personally can’t stand her. Every time she learns something new she forgets it by the end of the episode for the sake of cuteness and it drives me NUTS. WE GET IT GIRL. YOU NEED TO BE MORE ASSERTIVE. YOU’VE HAD LIKE 3 EPISODES ABOUT IT.
I find Fluttershy to be my favourite character because she has had some downright terrifying obstacles to overcome, and she has managed to face them - especially if her friends were at stake.
Manticores, Dragons, Cockatrices - all of these beasts have been faced by Fluttershy, one of which she has a deep phobia of, for the sake of protecting those she cares about.
Not only that, but her methods are the least-violent options, something that somebody like me admires, because I used to raise my fists when approaching problems, rather than looking for a better way.
Then there is how she is outside of extraordinary circumstances. I can’t describe it exactly, but she is sweet. Cute would be an understatement. It’s just something about her that I find makes her more interesting than the others.
I think the bottom line about why I adore her, is this:
She may be shy, but she will not hesitate to rush to the aid of others, no matter what may happen, she won’t give up. And the fact that such a strong and unrelenting spirit resides in such a calm and quiet pony is a mystery that I’m enthralled in.
And then there’s the matter of Aunt and Uncle Orange.
Why is this relevant? Who’s side of the family are they on, mother, father. Applejack clearly knew them well enough to travel in a city and find them without any help, so her parents must have introduced her to them sometime ago.
AJ’s parents aren’t dead
they just abandoned their three children with Granny Smith because they hated living the life of farmers and wanted to make something more of themselves like their relatives the Oranges, over time they just forgot about them…what?
I’d like Fluttershy more if, again, her characterization stuck more. How is she still scared of dragons when she made a full-grown crimson wyrm bawl his eyes out just by raising her voice? Seriously.
As for Twilight… Well, Faust wrote the pilot, right? In the pilot, Twilight and Celestia were pretty much best friends.
After that, the writers scrapped that to hell and wrote Twilight as being scared shitless of her. Why? Fuck if I know.
I didn’t use to care much for Fluttershy, except halfway through season two at putting your hoof down, I love her now because I’m convinced she’s a complete yandere, and I love yanderes because they’re completely off their friggen rockers ….and did I mention I like crazy chicks?
On the subject of Celestia, I’m rather curious as to why Twilight seems so terrified of her, unless the simple realization that Celestia banished her own sister to the moon for a thousand years was enough to actually terrify her so much
I’d love for them to subtlety hint AJ’s parents are dead, it’s not like childhood isn’t already full of heartbreak and tearjerkers (I’m looking at you Disney), and it’d be a good way to say “yeah, everyone’s gotta go someday” without scaring the shit outta them.
