I’m at a loss for how you can own “solid-colored, non-stylized plus sign”. That’s like claiming ownership of all plain green circles.

I know Neverwinter Nights had to remove a Red Cross from one of its healing items back in the day. Maybe they’re okay with it if it’s in a modern, real-world context?

Is that why she has been gone for awhile?  
And since when did the Red Cross society start cracking done hard on the use of their symbol?  
Many games in the past have the symbol in medical context.
