I think it’s a pretty good setup for a potential future episode. Considering Trixie worked on the rock farm pre-redemption, it’s probably quite likely she and Maud didn’t get along in canon. Flash-forward to modern day; Starlight introduces her two best friends to each-other, only to find out they already know, and dislike, one another. What’s a pony to do when her two closest friends can’t get along?

I’d say that’s pretty likely, considering Trixie worked on the Pie family’s farm for an undefined amount of time between S1 and S3.

You know, there’s still a chance that Maud might know who Trixie is, considering they didn’t meet in the episode, and Maud probably thinks Trixie doesn’t live in ponyville. Who knows, maybe one day they’ll meet and know each other, or don’t. I hope it’s not the latter.

Sunburst is the first possible love interest for Starlight and now everybody including dragons gets added to that list and Starburst is getting less and less relevant every time Starlight gets a new friend.  
Shit I am so stressed out right now because Starburst is my OTP.

I still enjoy Maud Pie x Trixie shipping.
