I only saw the episode once so I could be wrong, but I don’t think she said she “wasn’t into shy guys”, she just didn’t want Discord behaving like someone else. Obviously, she’d be sympathetic and understanding about shyness.
While I like certain ships with Big Mac better then others, the only one this really feels abrupt in the writing department is the Marble Pie ship. It was more consensual shipping that they could of actually done a followup episode, it was very recent, but then it just diverged into a competition episode with an entirely different girl against an outdated Bieber stereotype. Felt so forced that I feel that any further attempts to ship Big Mac will lack any meaning.
(My personal favorite was Lunamac, but I was okay with Marble Mac so long as simple continuity could be followed)
@SlickDoodleGuy
Eveything beside Fluttermac came from comics or tv show. Fluttershy was never into shy men to begin with which is explained in Dicordant Harmony ep.
@Grulaz
Hey who knows. Maybe they will write Big Mac and Sugar Belle as Marco and Jackie from Star Vs FoE? And Cheerilee will become the Star character? As long as they don’t get marrie there is still chance for ships to change.

ay Cheerimac supporter i loved cheerimac to the core it’s a shame the show killed it but look on the bright side atleast they finally put an axe to Marblemac and Fluttermac
Now all they need is for the writers of future episodes to not completely ignore their relationship. :P
@neo4812
Does it matter? Either one can turn himself into the other. XD
@Esteban
There’s still different degrees of plausibility even there. Soarin’ and Rainbow Dash have a decent amount of screen time together and their interactions, while not romantic, are nearly always positive, and over the course of six seasons, they’ve gone from being relative strangers . Sweetie Belle and Spike, on the other hand, don’t spend much time around each other; all they really have in common is Rarity, and they don’t tend to both be around her at the same time, so while I admit to not having checked, you can probably count the number of times they’ve actually spoken to each other on one hand.

Never trust a ship that is introduced in the background. Animators do their own thing as long as the writer or story editor won’t specify which ship should be canon. Always make sure the ship is in the episode transcript of that episode (in conversations or descriptions by other characters) or it may end like CheerieMac.
Especially the ships like SoariDash or that recent Night Glider/Party Favor and SweetieBelle/Spike ships are also sailing very dangerous waters by mostly being background events.
The only exception here is Lyra/BonBon due to Larson exposing it in Slice of Life so the animators and writers and Meghan had time to headcanon them as lesbian.
Cheerimac, however, was a solid 4 on that scale (and would’ve been up to 5 if the animators kept giving them scenes together), which makes me kind of sad it got torpedoed from out of nowhere. Ah well.
@JwwProd
But flowers were confirmed as non shipping gesture. It was more like people thinking that FlutterDash is happening because she blushed when Dash took her sheet of the bed and exposed her. Dislestia is at best at 3 and barely, since Discord didn’t even cared about her being taken by changelings so she’s not really his friend.
@ChuymaruZ
Hey now, while I may not be in favor of FlutterMac, I most certainly understand its appeal, my only gripe is that its crazy popular and yet both characters have pretty much never looked each other in the face once, I wouldn’t be too hard on it if that wasn’t the case, and YES I don’t really see any obstacles getting in the way of it other then the writers decision, but at the same time I wouldn’t really say crack parings are all super impossible, its just a matter how, and with the other mares people are starting to ship Big Mac with, Fluttermac isn’t even that prevalent anymore…
