Thinking as fast as my weary mind would allow, I crept into the shadows and, straining with all my might, telekinetically dislodged a chunk of the building above Krastos’s head, sending him sprawling onto the floor and the gem into the air. I nabbed it with my mind as it descended and ran out of the room, pissing myself all the while.

After stumbling through the labyrinthine hallways of Krastos Lair for quite a while, I found what I was looking for.
 
An amplifier gem.
 
The problem, however, was that it was still clenched in Krastos’s claws. I had wandered into the ‘artists’ study on accident.

Now, the thing is, I don’t remember much of what happened after that. I wandered down the hallways, searching for an exit for some time. At some point I ended up in a dank, smelly basement, where I saw my salvation waiting for me.
 
Etched on the floor was a gateway spell.
 
All I had to do was build up a strong enough charge, and I could leave Tartarus behind forever. The problem was that there was some sort of dampening effect spread through out Tartarus, and Arabus take my shade if I wasn’t already weakened from all of the days events. I wandered out of the basement in a stupor, looking for some sort of amplifier to cast my essence through.

Hell looks like this thread has ended. If not there is nothing left for me to do here.

So I rushed out of the door into a huge white hallway tunneling north. The hallway branched off into smaller hallways at evenly spaced points along it’s length.
 
I chose a single branch at random, and began to wander through it, coursing towards a plain wooden door at it’s end. I opened the door and stepped into another tower, this one as gory and nightmarish as the first. I honestly considered hiding behind one of the corpses. At least until one of them twitched.
 
It was at that point that I decided to leave.
