In that I give you the reason, Applejack in the regular series of FIM was always a very flat character, even though the producers strive is very difficult to make it improve there is not much to do, in EGQ Applejack is much more interesting than its version pony, maybe that’s why Hasbro wants to “kill her” in FIM G5, and ironically all this disaster with her was created by Laurent Faust who preferred to jump from the FIM crew from the first season when Hasbro was about to cancel it and the entire MCCarthy team and the writers rescued the series from the clutches of death.

OP’s trying to critique that there’s nothing complex about Applejack, that she’s a simple farmer. Hasn’t this been the common critique of Applejack throughout the show, that she isn’t complex? Isn’t that part of why she’s known as a background character?
