MLP doesn’t seem to be allowed to show any kissing (mouth to mouth) unless it’s a wedding.

Absolutely no romance with the pony Mane 6. But Equestria Girls, so so I guess?  
Considering EqG started off with a romance subplot from the beginning. Much to people’s initial protest.

Any Mane 6 pairing in canon is off limits for me too, at least with their pony counterparts. Their human counterparts on the other hand? I honestly wouldn’t mind if they got into canon romances.

My mind was already showing me the kiss scene, I was just waiting for it to happen. And then, not a surprise, it was just a hug. But you can feel this was meant to be the kiss moment. Those animators aren’t ameteurs, and neither are the voice actors. This scene feels the way it does on purpose. Still I look forward to seeing them kiss for real eventually. Perhaps it would be a bit early to show that this soon, they did only just make it canon. I’ve enver shipped these two so it felt really out of no-where. But I know others will say they’ve given us hints for ages. I know I’ll be looking for them now as I look back, but I still feel like this was an unexpected pair to make canon. Heck any of the mane 6 being a canon couple with each other seemed off-limits to me. Very surprising moment, this will take some getting used to.
 
Of course I know this isn’t canon to the ponyverse… Yet.

He does this “lean over her to corner her against the wall” thing and keeps talking over her in order to push her into a situation where they’ll spend time together, then plays on the puppy-eyes to guilt-trip her. IF that’s not pushy to you, I don’t know what to tell you.

Zephyr Breeze affection toward Rainbow Dash. In FiM he acts like Dash is already all over him and he is full of himself like Johnny Bravo. In EQG he is more like Spike trying to impress her and making up activities that would make her spend time with him.

The difference here being that Rarity acknowledged the crush, didn’t mind it (even arguably found it flattering), and while she’s obviously never going to reciprocate, she plays with it nonetheless.
 
On the other hand, Rainbow Dash is obviously and clearly not even the slightest bit interested in Zephyr - heck, she’s clearly creeped out by him - and yet he refuses to acknowledge it. I dunno if there’s an argument to be made about “Dash never said no”, or if we can assume she did but he didn’t listen (which I’m more inclined to believe considering she shoves him off a chair in MLP), but bottom line, he really never came off as cute/goofy to me, but as outright annoying at best and worryingly creepy at worst (which is nearly all the time in EqG)

Subverting expectations, I can applaud. Dash ending up with Zephyr, of all people, dear lord, just no. Have her with Soarin if they wanna do the whole “subvert expectations” thing, but Zephyr? Hell no, specially with how much of a creep he comes across as in Equestria Girls.
