Let’s not forget Discord, who tortured the entire country for who know’s how many years and really wasn’t all to bothered by his punishment save the annoyance of it and Luna who willingly put the world at risk because she didn’t get goddess treatment.

Like, yeah, her mindset is awful, but now everyone automatically thinks she’s irredeemable because of her mindset and because everyone thinks “but they weren’t, right” means “I don’t give a flying fuck that your friends almost died”
 
But Starlight Glimmer gets to run a literal cult.

I honestly legit think that everyone in this SJW fandom is just an unfair asshole to Lightning Dust because she has a toxic mindset on being the best of the best, and it triggers the ever loving shit out of everybody.

And she kept getting “Good job!” From Spit-failure everytime something happened, didn’t she? Rainbow backed down over her ego, her pride, every time she talked to Dust which shows her loyalty only extends so far as it benefits her in that situation.
 
Positive reinforcment from a worthless individual who should have to do more then just ‘rethinking’ considering the damage she caused not just to Dust and Dash but every other recruit and her actual flight team?

Okay, that’s no. It’s true that Rainbow has had years of tempering, but Rainbow also has an inherit sense to these things that Lightning Dust lacks. Lightning does not have loyalty. She cares only for herself. She liked Rainbow because she kept up, but she did not care about Rainbow. She did not care a bit about hurting Rainbow.
 
Also, Spitfire has had to do some rethinking about her actions as we’ve seen. That does not change the fact that Lightning Dust was utterly careless, selfish, reckless, and dangerous.

I feel bad in general because I was sharing episode dialogue in another derpibooru thread, where I basically took one of LD’s quotes out of context because I was reading them off a translated sub file, and didn’t know the next line also belonged to her.
 
“furious at me? Please, was putting the lives of your friends in danger really so bad?”
 
that line sucks until the next line is
 
“Yes, but you see, now the only ones I put in danger are these idiots.”
 
So I kinda contributed to the drama, and I apologize, but yet, I guess in the end it didn’t matter because, once again, act 3 Lightning Dust is a total sociopath.

To be honest, the episode itself? 8/10
 
But Lightning Dust’s depiction? Awful…. absolutely awful.
 
I can overlook it for the sake of the episode itself because what they do with Rainbow and Scoots is so beautiful (imagine this, an episode where Rainbow Dash is served humble pie while NOT being portrayed as an out of character cunt?). It did everything Mare Do Well and 28 Pranks Later tried to do to Rainbow, but it actually fucking worked and was believable.
 
But seriously….. Lightning Dust was absolutely way off. Actual dialogue from Wonderbolt Academy: “But they weren’t, right?” Doesn’t mean “who the fuck cares that your friends almost died” but that’s what you all, and Confalone, interpret that as. We even go as far as to show that she knows she fucked up in this episode: “Please, was putting the lives of your friends in danger really so bad? Yes, but you see, now the only ones I put in danger are these idiots.” So it starts off that all three of them know the risks of everything they do and they even have the announcer say “don’t try this at home” etc. Things were going so well…
 
Until act 3 (what the fuck is with these post s3 writers and their act 3’s….), when Confalone decided “no, screw it, she’s a sociopath and she’s gonna try to kill Scootaloo for the sake of her show.” which almost ruined the whole episode, but it definitely ruined Lightning Dust.
 
This isn’t a canon Lightning Dust to me, and I’m sure many of Lightning Dust’s fans will agree.

Welp, I wouldn’t be surprised if LD didn’t return on Season 9 because she died in a fatal crash off-screen after that episode due to her recklessness.

…congratulations, Rainbow had years of tempering by her freinds and others, Lightning found herself being told everything was fine, on the crux of having her dream fulfilled, by the one person she adores over any other.
 
Does the psychological rammifications of that just not come through?
 
Dash not only met the bolts on multiple occaisions, she saved them,she’s long past the phase of adoration, Lightning isn’t.
 
And comparing her to literal murderers and genocidal beasts is comparing peanut butter to a barrel of napalm.

Why would Lightning, who never got that chance to apologize and then had this flanderized crap, be the only one held accountable?

Both got out of their consequences and allowed to just walk when anyone else wouldn’t, at this point I couldn’t physically care less about the spoiled brat proncess protege who’s a rightful criminal in two worlds, or the world ending and time distorting Glimmer.

I’m just hopeful that this episode spurs more Lightning Dust art. and lots of RainbowDust

That was nothing when compared to a number of people who liked Starlight Glimmer and Sunset Shimmer.
 
Basically, both characters are more interesting than LD will ever be.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, your feelings don’t mean much when you cheat the system to avoid the consequences of your actions.
 
Which is something every single one of the mane six and the disgusting thing Spitfire is have done and get praised for.
 
The episode didn’t state a lot of things, like Spitfires failure to do her job or even act like a competent military officer but clearly everyone can see that one.
