Also how stupid it should sound a scenario where everyone hates Fluttershy over that? I think they would surprise and maybe happy for her I guess.

Have you watched Three’s a Crowd, Keep Calm and Flutter On, and A Matter of Principals?
 
They do treat him like shit before Season 9. If they didn’t, there wouldn’t be any possibilities of Fluttershy betraying her friends over things like this. And then I would be okay with Fluttercord.

You might as well ask this question about any pairing in any cartoon like Kim PossiblexRon or AangxKatara or any tv series.
The shortest answer here is: They were a reference to Beauty and Beast since Keep Calm and Flutter On(Initial introduction of Belle to the talking utensils VS Discord dancing candles), they had similar bond and fun with mundane stuff like in Beauty and Beast (Belle and Beast playing on snow Vs them in Discordant Harmony), had similar arc of Beast rescuine her (saved from Wolves Vs saved from Chrysalis), had been referenced in recent episode (Beast “dying” after Gastone wounded him VS Discord “dying” after SOmbra wounded him) and deserve to have similar ending(Beauty and Beast got married and we don’t know how Discord and FLuttershy story ends).

Dear Fluttercord shippers
 
Do you even care about Fluttershy’s friends anymore? Are you okay with her friends betraying Fluttershy or vice-versa because they get always so pissed off at Discord for no reason and still treat him like shit despite his reformation?
 
This is why I can’t ship nor like Fluttercord, same reasons why I hate Tomstar.
 
Also, another question, imagine if you have a significant other who’s formerly a criminal, and your friends don’t trust him, and they get angry at him for no reason. What would you do? Would you betray your friends?

If she had a crush, that would confirm this ship even if Discord wasn’t aware of it. I dont think we need wedding episode to confirm them even if for Jim that might be the case. He didn’t saw LyraBon as romantic even when they spent a Valentine Day together. Maybe he doesnt see them as a anon couple as well if only Fluttershy crush on him.
