And Spike being caught in the middle, with him being in so much trouble…

To be fair, if Applebloom thinks she has a fiancé, she would be less likely to fool around while Applejack is out at sea.

Applejack seems more likely to kick Apple Bloom’s ass than Spike’s. She was pretty understanding about it the first time something like this happened

If she heard the word fiance, then she’s heard literally every single word that Spike’s said in this panel, especially given that AB was just saying it as a goodbye, while Spike was shouting most of this.
 
What I’m saying is that this looks scary and all that, but in reality this presentation is highly illogical and if she acts in a hostile manner in the next page, in spite of that, then that’s bad writing/characterization. But, if she doesn’t act hostile, then there was literally no point in having her appear menacing here, except maybe as a setup for a tonal shift in the next page.

Man do I hate this version of Applebloom… and AJ.
