Read the text on the image, dude; get someone to help you with the big words if you need to. All of your artistic screeching could have been solved if you people had just taken your own advice and either used the tags or just gone somewhere else, and the fact that so many of you are still here whining about it instead of joining your fellow travelers over at Ponazybooru or whatever really puts your actually motivation front and center.

Complaining about what?

A lot of people who like shitty racist images have been screaming very loudly over the last few weeks about Derpibooru making a new policy prohibiting shitty racist images, and even though a bunch of other MLP image boorus have sprung up specifically to cater to shitty racist images, many of those screaming racists have decided to stay here and screech about it instead of just going to one of those other shitty racist image boorus and letting the normal people stay here in peace.

Did you just “criticism is harassment” post.
I’ll point out that Lupa is subsidized by the biggest news company in São Paulo and they employ adults who are legally responsible for their claims, their job is quite literally to “dismantle fake news” but they crack under any pressure. They where under very rigorous expectations and they failed to uphold their worth. Look at the cycle:
Folha de São Paulo (MSM) is accused of being fake news
Folha de São Paulo creates their own fact checker, Agencia Lupa, to prove they aren’t fake news
Agencia Lupa is accused of being fake news. Incompetent fact checkers can’t handle the stress of due diligence and melt down on twitter.
International Media, poynter, picks up the story from the twitter melt down and claims Brazilian Fact Checkers are being attacked.
Wikipedia picks up Poynter’s opinion piece and uses as source.
A foreigner is inclined to believe the article because of perceived authority. Little does the foreigner know that this prerogative of attack are just Brazilians calling out blatant lies in their newspaper
This same cycle of lies will repeat with the fake nazi bronies article. It’s just a matter of time until the self citing cycle becomes untraceable. We can end this by stop pretending.

The very first source of that wikipage is an opinion piece where the author talks about Agencia Lupa, A Brazilian “”“fact checker””” “”“attacked””” in Brazil.
First of all no one was attacked, they where put into scrutiny and accused of having bias, so the “”“attacked””” claim is already a lie. And most importantly the Agencia Lupa is lobbying with lawmakers to pass a “anti fake news” law while half of their fact checking is less than subpar and half of their posts is just “”“news””” pushing an idea. I’m Brazilian by the way.
So no, that wiki article is not reliable, and there was no attention paid to sources. There was a lot of pretending that sources where read, but like always they don’t last an ounce of scrutiny.

Wikipedia is so broken I could use the “end of the booru” article to add a section about nazi bronies on wikipedia, and them the toast zebra boi would use the wikipedia to boaster his claims, all the while the source for his claims is himself, because the original article only interviewed him. You see the problem here?

@Dsiak
Hang on. Allow me to throw my hat in the ring.

I am uncertain if there is any information to be had in some of these links, but… fuck it.

First and foremost, Wikipedia’s reliability and credibility fall well short of the standards for a school paper. According to Wikipedia itself, “[W]hile some articles are of the highest quality of scholarship, others are admittedly complete rubbish. … use [Wikipedia] with an informed understanding of what it is and what it isn’t.”

In March 2009, Irish student Shane Fitzgerald, who was conducting research on the Internet and globalization of information, posted a fake quotation on the Wikipedia article about recently deceased French composer Maurice Jarre. Due to the fact that the quote was not attributed to a reliable source, it was removed several times by editors, but Fitzgerald continued reposting it until it was allowed to remain. Fitzgerald was startled to learn that several major newspapers picked up the quote and published it in obituaries, confirming his suspicions of the questionable ways in which journalists use websites, and Wikipedia, as a reliable source. Fitzgerald emailed the newspapers letting them know that the quote was fabricated; he believes that otherwise, they might never have found out.

Admins on Wikipedia also have the power to delete or disallow comments or articles they disagree with and support the viewpoints they approve. For example, beginning in 2003, U.K. scientist William Connolley became a website admin and subsequently wrote or rewrote more than 5,000 Wikipedia articles supporting the concept of climate change and global warming. More importantly, he used his authority to ban more than 2,000 contributors with opposing viewpoints from making further contributions. According to The Financial Post, when Connolley was through editing, “The Medieval Warm Period disappeared, as did criticism of the global warming orthodoxy.” Connolley has since been stripped of authority at Wikipedia, but one blogger believes he continues to post.

Furthermore, in 2007, a new program called WikiScanner uncovered individuals with a clear conflict of interest that had written or edited some Wikipedia entries. Employees from organizations such as the CIA, the Democratic National Party and Diebold were editing Wikipedia entries in their employers’ favor.

Another example, John Seigenthaler, a former assistant to Robert Kennedy, was falsely implicated in the assassinations of the Kennedy brothers on his Wikipedia biography for a period of more than 100 days without his knowledge.

And remember when the Taliban kidnapped New York Times reporter David Rohde in Afghanistan? The paper convinced 40 media organizations plus Wikipedia not to report on it out of concerns that it would compromise Rohde’s safety. Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales told the Times, once Rohde was free, that “We were really helped by the fact that it (postings on Rohde) hadn’t appeared in a place we would regard as a reliable source.” Thus, Wales and other senior Wikipedia editors showed they were willing to rely on the “unreliable source” canard to delete information they had been told by a very reliable source was true, even when a more noble reason—Rohde’s safety—would have justified it.

But the number one reason you can’t cite or rely on Wikipedia?

It says so on Wikipedia.

Wikipedia says, ‘‘We do not expect you to trust us’’. It adds that it is “not a primary source” and that “because some articles may contain errors,” you should “not use Wikipedia to make critical decisions.”

Furthermore, as Wikipedia notes in its About section, “Users should be aware that not all articles are of encyclopedic quality from the start: they may contain false or debatable information.”

Nevertheless, Wikipedia can actually be a constructive tool in the classroom… if understood and used correctly.

And while we’re at it…

Bro there’s no room on the bandwagon for me and the 24 bans I’ve had over the last sevenish years for yelling at people like you.
Also LOL at thinking “this site which has extensive footnotes citing the sources of any factual claims doesn’t count as a source full” is a valid argument rather than self-identifying as someone who hasn’t mastered the fine art of “scrolling all the way down”.
It is not an argument if one is clearly right and the other is clearly wrong. But whatever makes you happy, pal.

Wikipedia is not real source. I can personally point out a trolling I found years and years ago here

It clains that “Vertical Area Network” (VAN) is a topology to align modems and server points in a vertical manner to work in tall buildings, and the source is the leading book in computer network by Tenenbaum. This of course is non-sense bullshit. I even had the pleasure of meeting a wikipedia ADM in a free software conference and point it out for him. Funniest thing happened: he googled the fake information. and the fake information appears in many trash websites that copied directly from wikipedia. This of course is the well known phenomenon of self citation. And wikipedia is notorious for those. This is why real encyclopedias are peer reviewed instead of allowing any stinky brainer to edit using stinky journalists has sources.

Not gonna lie Texas, I love your art. That Chryss was great. But you are either being intellectually disingenuous by wikipediaposting or you are as gullible has a child. Either case I lost hope.

but it wraps back around to knee-slappin’ hi-larious that your attempt at a five alarm sickburn or whatever is based around uncritically swallowing whatever MBFC spits out.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_Bias/Fact_Check
The Columbia Journalism Review describes Media Bias/Fact Check as an amateur attempt at categorizing media bias and Van Zandt as an “armchair media analyst.” The Poynter Institute notes, “Media Bias/Fact Check is a widely cited source for news stories and even studies about misinformation, despite the fact that its method is in no way scientific.” Alexandra Kitty, in a 2018 book on journalism, described MBFC as an apparent “amateur/civic outfit” and wrote that its founder’s only qualification was a degree in communications.
Oh, yeah, ‘cause doing the same thing with Wikipedia is gonna help your case. I swear you crack me up sometimes, man.

Seriously, though… you missed my point entirely. It may surprise, maybe even shock you to realize that, while it is not a conspiracy theory like some people believe, you-know-what’s threat to humanity has been entirely miscalculated. And MBFC or not, there aren’t enough LOLs in the Laniakea Supercluster for the idea that anything CNN and others of its ilk churn out should be taken at face value. Not necessarily because biased news can’t be factual, but because such outlets seem predisposed towards pandering to the lowest common denominator. This and what sparked these riots are just typical situations where the media takes these stories, spin them for clicks, and spin them for views.

But that’s neither here nor there.

And anyway, I hope the the rest of your night is as pleasant as you are, Tex.

TL;DR — Stop jumping on the bandwagon for the sake of being conformist. Argumentum ad populum.

Everyone should read your comment. How you said, the modern media is a goddamn joke, specially becase we need to remember the people in those media are professionals who should be doing an excellent job, but we get trash and lies instead. This is a serious problem, problem some people just don’t want to see or they simply doesn’t care, because, indifference I guess. The most sad fact here IMO is, that there’s no one else to blame but us. Yes, us, people who know what’s really happening. It’s like we were the problem just because we know the reality behind the lies they sell us.

Surely these are legit, unbiased sources. Surely they don’t rush to write whatever the second someone posts a video on twitter. These companies undoubtedly have journalists on the ground has opposed to a team of only twitter surfers reverberating opinions and blocking out the facts. None of them had to pay 250 million donalds to the boi they defamed.

Just take this whole “end of derpibooru” for an example, the journalist that wrote that reddit tier article talked to a total of one person, No attempts to reach out opposing voices, didn’t raise any numbers, didn’t fact check any claim. The next article the Hungarian article had sources like Know your Meme and twitter. And when someone present a challenge? They chimp out and call for bans, censoring and doxing. All the while these lunatics accuse the opposition of doing what they are doing. Modern media is a joke and to think mods gave in to their tyranny is cringe, not gonna lie.
