There is insufficient evidence to ascertain that this is truly what the Equestia Girls spin off will be. We suggest disregarding it until more information emerges.
I kinda think it will be neat to see the mane 6 in a high school setting. There fun personalities are what makes the show great. And if they screw up there characters, we at least get great fancomics of the pony versions insulting there human selves.
For the record, I don’t really care if it happens, as it will likely never be mentioned in the real show, but I’m just saying that I think the picture is more fact than fiction.

It’s possible that someone drew this with the intention of creating a hoax, yes.
However, the idea of someone who drew 6 characters and a detailed background, all the while making sure it doesn’t look too is just a little over my threshold of disbelief.
You know, uploading a meta picture to tell people to stop with the drama about 12 hours after they stopped with the drama doesn’t really help stop the drama.

Again, it does not prove that the blog article is not fake. Many people were already speculating that Equestria Girls would involve humans before the article, so all the blog had to do is follow what most people were already predicting to sound believable.

It said that they will be an entertainment show, toy ponies and doll.
With this information you can expect the presence of ponies (toy ponies) and have some asumption of a human presence (doll with no pony reference) in an animated show.
So if there is ponies, why would the mane six would be humanized, where would be the ponies if it isn’t them.
It is probably not the fake (but the design of the characters may change till it is realeased).
But it wont affect the FIM Series in any way. The new IP is for teenaged girls, not little girls. We will still see ponies and they wont have to deal with humans.

I’ve seen plenty of hoaxes that looked believable. Just because someone is effective at drawing something that looks stiff and awkward like official concept are means diddly squat, and your first mistake was assuming that if this was not official art, that means it was drawn by a fan. If these people are dedicated enough trolls they would have drawn it themselves, which is part of why it would look “bad enough to be real.”

There is no actual news about the equestria girls line other than that it will be aimed at teens and it will exist outside of the main line of merchandise, and some of the merchandise will involve “dolls” (which could be humanized or pony, the news did not specify). Whatever it is it won’t affect the main show, though.
Many people had already been speculating that the dolls would be humanized, so it’s not like this blog was doing anything clever when they created that post. The only reason it is causing so much drama is because they had an image attached to it.
