Well Badum did create an angel pone, so who knows? I think though that he likes to include elements and aspects from many different faiths and mythologies, not just one. The kitsune itself being an example of that.

If she discovers she’s been possessed, she would do whatever she could to perform a sort of self-exorcism, which may be possible if necromancy has been confirmed to be canon as evidenced by Sombra being summoned like a demon would be in the S9 premiere. They would probably have to do whatever it would take to not let her know that she’s been possessed. This is all assuming, of course, that Princess Twilight is actually alive.

Well, as Badum said, they’re amoral, but not evil. I would think the Nokia and shadow probably know or have heard of more malicious entities that have done far worse things to the host than they ever did and intend to keep it that way.

The best part, is the stronger your innate magic is, the more vulnerable you are to possession from such creatures. There’s no end to weird creatures in Equestria that thrive on squatting in the body of a powerful creature. Most are minor nuisances at best, a few are so unintrusive you could go your whole life without even realizing you were harboring such a creature. Then there are ones like the kitsune who’s basically just in it for a good time, just wants to party for a while, and really doesn’t even care if she gets booted out of Twilight’s body since she can just possess someone else, and the shadow pony who’s “job” it is to basically pester whoever’s body she ends up in since she’s literally a curse created to punish ponies who invade the tomb she was set to guard: keeping the kitsune around will pester Twilight more easily, and keeping the shadow pony around will be fun, so queue evil grins from both of them :P

As far as Twilight knows right now, she thinks the fox ears and tail are just a weird poison joke style curse and has no idea they actually belong to a sentient creature that gets control of her when she’s asleep. She’s not even remotely aware the shadow pony is in her since that thing is so subtle in how it messes with Twilight she just thinks she’s had bad luck lately XD

Thankfully they’re not necessarily “evil” but just amoral by mortal standards. Kitsunes are just fun-loving horny party animals, basically, and the shadow pony is doing a job to “punish” Twilight for invading a tomb. Neither of them have any grudge or hate of her whatsoever :P

There’s not a whole lot of things she can do to stop them. There are ways to block possessions, and exorcise them, and trap them, and even exile them into another body or even inanimate object. Problem is Twilight doesn’t know any of these methods >:D

Somnambulan curses are a type of sphinx magic, and sphinx magic is the exact opposite of Discord’s chaos magic: the more structure, strict rules, and “order” there is to it, the stronger it gets. For a Somnambulan curse to work, it has to have a very strict, very easy, and very straightforward way to undo it. Each curse can have a different one, but for the shadow pony possession, all Twilight has to do to break the curse is see the shadow pony in action: with her own eyes, in a mirror, even in a video or photo. However, technically these aren’t “Twilight’s” eyes right now, so this doesn’t count XD

Oh man, snitching on a spook is a REALLY good way to get possessed yourself. When they get booted out of Twilight’s body, unless they’re captured or exiled or whatever (which Twilight doesn’t know how to do) they’re just out in the wild: quite literally nothing is stopping them from just hopping into the next person they see XD
