It’s sad to see him shoved into the background like this, but as long as fans continue to do fanart of him and write fanfics about him he’ll never be forgotten.
From the beginning I knew that sprout wouldn’t be a mane character since he’s an earth pony it was obvious that they put a unicorn.
but I had hopes that he would be a recurring character in the show, especially after the trailer for the first chapter, I thought that him having powerful plant magic and him doing community service would be explored so he could have a redemption arc, perhaps becoming the starlight glimmer from the group.
but they didn’t reduce him to a background pony which I think is sad he was a fun character in the film.
