Basically, even if it’s true ponies and other races do in fact eat grass, the fact that one of them has evolved to a point where they even have techonology, makes the idea of them feeding of the grass the same as a human today hunting directly for meat.

I could be wrong, but I believe goats do not hold exclusive rights to this idea, and that horses, cows, and other livestock are also able to partake of the lawn buffet.
