Twilight’s is one episode of abuse.  
Every one of Spike’s scenes this season has made him the butt monkey.  
It’s more about the frequency of the scenes rather than the severity of them.

Everypony gets theirs, he’s no exception. Twilight went through a lot during Winter Wrap Up, Applejack nearly worked herself to death, Rainbow Dash spends a portion of her time getting injured in one comedic fashion or other.
 
But with Spike, there’s a lot of whining whenever it happens. There wasn’t this much when Fluttershy nearly destroyed Ponyville with the parasprites twice. Seriously, the one thing I’m getting tired off is the Spikeabuse whining.

Because Spike, your nothing more waste of animation. Not even op wanted to fully put you in this picture.

Because Hasbro thinks it’s funny >_>

Its more like he’s much more resistant to damage/pain than the ponies are.  
Dragon scales and all that.  
Still, I agree that just because he can take it, it doesn’t make it right for the writers to turn him into the show’s official punching bag.

Does anyone hear that sad background music from classic Naruto? If they decide to get rid of him, then I wish the writers a painful hell! The only thing giving me hope was the blog post that Spike would get better eps.

Dragons aren’t immune to pain. Spike is clearly hurt in a lot of the slapstick gags. He’s never really emotionally effected, though.

When it comes to Rarity, he’s very mature for his age. When he’s used as comedy relief, he’s a helpless child. make up your minds or just admit that Spike is just a hot potato that the writers don’t want to deal with but have to.

Personally, I love it. He works pretty well as a punching bad and he never gets too upset about it in the actual show, so it’s fine. In this episode he cried or some shit but it wasn’t a joke.

Am I the only one who wants to see Spike become MLP’s equivalent of Shinji Ikari?

I HATE Spikeabuse. I don’t see anything funny about it, and it needs to come to an end.

Well, and I say this still as a fan of the show, they’ve kinda been wasting all of the characters lately. It’s become story driven characters rather than character driven stories. I mean not totally, there are still endearing moments. But how often go you find yourself relating to the characters this season honestly?

I seriously wish they would just not use him in an episode if he’s not going to do anything but dance and be the butt of a joke. Stop wasting Spike you guys.
