Having a moral high ground generally depends on not sinking to the same vile, malicious tactics that your victims are often accused of, or using those same accusations to justify the actions in question.
 
Really, this what the anti-social justice haters do wrong every time. They call their victims all sorts of vile, evil, monstrous things, all because of how exaggeratedly hateful they are, but there’s no limit to the hate that they themselves are willing to direct at them. And they either deflect all criticism by portraying their victims as subhuman monsters whose every thought is pure evil, or simply say “that’s what my victims do” without even acknowledging that they’re doing the same.

Making an “Anderson drama” tag for this stuff so I don’t have to look at it anymore.

If he honestly didn’t recognize the OC– and seriously, anyone who isn’t already arglebargle-invested in the fountainhead of sweetness and light that is the Dragondickosphere end of the fandom almost certainly wouldn’t recognize it– the only reason to automatically assume that there’s some kind of shilling going on is exactly the kind of kneejerk anti-DustyKatt bias he was talking about in his “color me surprised” followup tweet. Not everyone has their head so far up their own rabbithole about powerless, ineffectual, pathologically unorganized, overenthusiastic Tumblr teenagers “SJW” that they obsessively follow every one of them they can identify just to look for something to get pissed off about, and unless they go over the internet preview comic pages at 300% zoom, that’s the only way anyone would have even been able to see the cameos in a comic that wasn’t on the shelves yet.
 
…I wonder, did she only change her name to “Cuteosphere” after someone pointed out that “Dragondicks” maybe wasn’t the best title for her particular brand of shitty gender politics?

It was a stupid and inflammatory post, to be sure, but nowhere near the level of hatred and vitriol that Cuteosphere, Pinkiepony, et. al. display[ed?] on a continuing basis. I remember seeing that while Derpygate was still raging, and thinking there was an uncomfortable amount of truth in it, given all the insults and attacks being employed by both sides.
 
There’s also his drawing celebrating the APM takedown. Big frickin’ whoop. I don’t care if someone liked or didn’t like that blog; it’s when they start using labels like “rape apologist” that I get upset with them.
 
There may be some drawings or comments showing that David McGuire is a genuinely hateful or bigoted person, but what I’ve seen so far just makes me think he’s a fan with some unpopular opinions and an abrasive way of expressing them.

To me, the main importance of the Inky Quills cameo is what it says about Ted Anderson that he thought it would be more controversial than the Princess Glitter Punch cameo. He seemed to assume it would be about jealousy (“That OC got a cameo and a line instead of my OC? Wah!”) rather than anger over the hateful artwork and posts the owners of those OCs produced.

I thought it WAS being said as if to excuse him. But anyone that thinks that is just really thick. Drama does not give anyone the right to act childish. But from what little I’ve seen of Inky, he comes off much more as a brony that is also a troll, than a brony hater. Until something bigger than the Derpy comic comes up, I think we’re all overeacting about him.
 
Dragondicks though absolutely disgusts me. Was hoping not to have to hear her stupid views again after I quit Tumblr. Can’t stand how many SJWs are trying to infect MLP. So glad to know that this problem has so quickly been sorted. I love it when the drama lasts only a couple days, similar to the drama with Stellar Eclipse.

I don’t think it excuses him… It was still troll-bait, and mean-spirited regardless what the context was. He was pooring gas on the flames of “Derpygate” with that image, and expressed anti-brony sentiments. (Even though he basically is brony.)

Stop using “it was during Derpygate” as it would be something to add to one’s crimes. If anything, it excuses them. It was a time when a lot of people weren’t happy with how their fellow fans (over)reacted. There is nothing wrong with the picture or the commentary in that context.
 
But, to make you guys happy; you can check for it and see the guy made a pic praising DWM a few years later. So you can hang him for that instead. Joy. :p

Sounds like a nice guy… (Also, this was back during “Derpygate” when tensions were high over the editing of her eyes, and what her name should be, and such… So he was obviously trying to anger spite people.)  
Also, Ink dude… You are a brony. You even have a ponysona OC for God’s sakes… You’re no better then a brony.
 
Now, MLP-fans don’t have to label themselves “bronies,” “pegasisters,” or whatever if they don’t wish to, but MLP-fans acting “superior” because they don’t use the nickname, (yet do some of the same things brony fans do, draw pony art, watch the show religiously, and such) and bash/demonize those that do is very very petty…
 
It’s like those fans who bash all bronies for the fanart pr0n, yet draw pony pr0n themselves…
