@Background Pony #31C8
cutosphere is an artist on tumblr that is known for perpetuating hate toward bronies and men in general ranging from this like “hate all men” to actually encouraging violence.
one of the writers from IDW put her oc in a cameo and it was revealed that he not only likes her work but also shares many of their controversial views. This was brought to the attention of the higher ups and has been subsequently terminated for using a company’s product to further his own agenda which goes against the companies consumers.

Yeah, it’s not a case where people looked at this page and discovered that “that looks like X’s drawing of her OC”
It was X posting this on her site with a comparison to her OC already attached, saying that it was the cameo from Y, attaching a note from Y, and Y confirming it right after it. There never was any doubt because they outed themselves from the beginning.
No bg check was or had to even be done. You can not attack that step because that step never existed.
Who did what in order for this to happen anyway? To clarify, those who fall under the who, to the best of my knowledge, are Bates, Anderson, and Cuteosphere, among any other applicable persons. The what of the question I’m not extremely clear upon. :\
Hey, situation has already passed. Ted revealed he was associated with cutosphere, that he had very controversial views (hate against men is not hate, its rebellion that kind of thing) and was consequently fired.
no one cares that the oc was in there, they care about what it revealed about Ted.
People should just leave it alone now, seeing how the drama is apparently over, and Ted Anderson got busted.
I hope artist Ben Bates doesn’t get in trouble, and get blacklisted from IDW for this though, considering it wasn’t his fault. (Ted even said it wasn’t, and Ben didn’t know who the OCs were.)
I love Ben’s art not just in Pony, but also in TMNT & the Sonic comics. (Sadly, Ben is leaving comic art for awhile to go into animation. I wish him luck though.)
The guy explicitly said he gave the line artist the reference, but not the colorist. People should really read a little into things before sayings things.
