It isn’t just there to be a home for Twilight though. It’s an extension of the Tree of Harmony, which I am sure will be important considering what Meghan said about what it can do.

Oh, the shots from RR and S5 definitely look better in my opinion, when there’s a nice scenery behind it.
 
The point was that it somehow keeps magically changing between movies/seasons.

It’s a magic, moving cascrystreetletal.

One of the shots in the new trailer is during the evening/late day. You can see the sun low in the sky behind the castle.

That thing really is an eyesore no matter how I look at it.

What’s cheerilee and Truffle doing there?

Actually, the castle seems to switch between several different shades of blue and purple in each shot…

actually, i am really loking the look of it at the bottom. up above it was just sitting in the middle of nowhere to be noticed. now it seems more humble in size and actually looks better with something next to it.

Ponyville was always known for its exacting geography up until S4. Clearly the show has jumped the shark. <sarcasm>

I think you mean the other way around. As the camera moves backwards, distant objects and more distant objects appear closer together.
 
Also: to everyone complaining about animation, please look up “perspective”.

Actually, the Rainbow Rocks one has a mountain with a waterfall too.
