And even if he said then he would clearly just talking bullshit since both Directors and IDW editor said already that anyone can use whatever from the comics. It’s the one license. Meghan said on SDCC that they try to connect the universes and they might use every character

Wasn’t the entire premise of that comic that the relations between the dragons and the ponies in the city were anything BUT friendly? Because the ponies were afraid of the dragons and assumed the worse about them?
 
If you are going to try and find contradictions you should probably actually read the comics before you say anything.

On Dragon Quest twilight says that the ponies dont know anything about dragons because they are too big and scary.
 
In the comics there is a friendly comunity of pony sized dragons living in a city

the first one suffered from execution. they should have gone for more emotion and less goofiness, showed the two character interacting more as people rather than going to parties, etc.
 
the second one could have been solved simply by having uncle chillipepper be the source of it all. maybe throw in a bit of world building showing that the ponies really could harm creatures like the bulls, and chillipepper’s logic was that he didn’t want any pony in his town taking advantage of others.
 
the third one was massively more contrived though, i will completely agree. less how they reacted i think, and more who the perpetrator was.

And once again, people fail to realize the difference between “canon” and “continuity”. In franchises with multiple media, everything is canon unless explicitly labeled non-canon, but there are different continuities. Look at Transformers; there are at least 7 different continuities of the G1 universe (G1 cartoon, G1 Marvel, Japanese G1, IDW G1, among others), all of which are canon, but are distinct entities from each other, with wildly different takes on familiar characters.
 
I see the MLP comics as something similar: it’s a distinct continuity from the show, but it’s still canon.

Nope, they cannot read fanfic comics. Bobby Curnow said many times that DXH writers can take everything and every character whenever they want without permission. All of it belong to Hasbro and all of them are approved by same people that approve the FiM.

I thought that only Vogel, Lenard, McCarthy and Thiesson can make that call. So far only McCarthy voiced her opinion about it and treated them as separate just like books.

Miller’s words were pretty much: “They’re canon if you want them to be, but they won’t affect the show.”
 
Please note that M.A Larson also stated at a panel with Nicole Oliver at Gala Con 2014 that writers cannot read the comics.
