Rarity finds Sombra’s horn, gets corrupted by it, starts acting overly affectionate with Spike (even throwing him a birthday party, GASP!) and in the celebration Spike finally realizes that he had been duped into an elaborate plot to revive the tyrant.

Surely I can’t be the only one who’s not terribly concerned with what her name is? Even if “Muffins” (or, more likely, some variation on “Dazzling Muffins”) isn’t a very good name, it’s still just a corporate-decided name, and we can still call her “Derpy” or “Ditzy” or whatever we prefer as a nickname (or, if you’re determined to disregard canon you don’t like, as her real name).

Personally, my favorite headcanon is that “Bright Eyes” is her real name, and “Derpy Hooves” and “Ditzy Doo” are among her nicknames (now including “Muffins”, apparently), but like I said before I’m not terribly concerned about it.

Established facts don’t mean anything to people who don’t like the name and will just make up excuses as to why “ditzy doo” or “bubbles” is her ‘real name’.

If they’re going to give her a canon name, I personally hope they go back to using Ditzy Doo, but anything’s better than nothing.

Pretty sure back in the season 1 background notes she was originally called Ditzy Doo. During pre-production of The Last Roundup the show makers thought “Hey, lets throw a bone to the fandom and call her Derpy.” You know the rest.
 
This is second hand information though.

B. Who knows, maybe Sombra believes Spike to be a worthy opponent. Being enemies does not exclude being civil to each other, you know…

A would be… interesting too, for pretty much the same reason, but it’d probably not as… questionable as I imagine it.

Well upon seeing this, I initially thought C would be the most likely one to happen, maybe building a new public library in place of Golden Oaks, as some of us have previously speculated could happen, but after some more consideration now I think it could be A, considering we have a certain episode coming up centered around Spike.
 
As for B, I don’t think we’ll be seeing Sombra again, but you never know, I would welcome the idea of giving the character another chance honestly, I think he had some potential.
