Digital animation is a tool that can work wonderfully if employed correctly. Just look at Rick & Morty, for example.
People knocking digital animation just because some people don’t know how to use it are missing the point.

Not really. A good chunk of the consequence of the characters’ designs was the fact that they were being animated in flash. That’s why they all generally have the same base body shape and whatnot.

Artistic expressions do not always have to make sense, you know. It may be a traced gif, but the way the artist portrays it gives off an old-timey retro feeling that a lot of people evidently like.
Lotta time, paper, and ink used here. I hope it helps you learn something about the show’s animation, but it’s really not even remotely an impressive result. I’m not trying to belittle this, but rather, question why it has over 500 upvotes when it’s a traced gif. Not seeing the sense there.
