Pretty much. You only need to start the planet rotating, and it won’t stop for billion upon billions of years. Also, stopping and starting the planet’s rotation would kill most creatures on the planet each time. Not to mention the disastrous weather. The only thing that makes sense is that Equestria isn’t a planet, but an artificial landmass in space with some type of simulated sky and simulated gravity. Maybe their entire universe is empty, and their little land mass is all that is left, and magic is the only thing providing energy for the “planet”.
Anyways, if people want to use science to make the mlp universe make sense, while still being 100% canon, it has to be a different universe with different laws of physics. No exceptions.
