I said the same thing about Fashion Plate when people started assuming he was gay because of his camp personality but honestly so long as they’re not being outright hateful about it it’s not hurting anyone.
 
Despite being gay I never really found gay jokes offensive unless they were intentionally meant to offend.

The joke about how every time a character’s appearance or behavior is just a little off from stereotypical gender norms, or every time two characters of the same sex show any sort of fondness for each other, there’s a chorus of “Oooh they’re gay/lesbian” comments.
 
Though I suspect I wouldn’t be as tired of that joke if someone found a new angle on it every now and then.
