I agree. When I first heard of the comic I expect a bit more of scuffle before the inevitable mutual respect came around, and the scene with the cart where Shining refused to get in the cart with BB did hint at that and yet it was just BB saving the day and SA learning a quick lesson.

Yes really. A lot of us have wanted to see BB again and he was done well.
 
Redeem? There was never a need to redeem him, the hate he gets is ridiculous and out of proportion he’s a pompous pretty boy that’s his character it doesn’t make him bad or wrong.
 
Shining isn’t a diplomat he’s a defender and nobody needed defending so of course he wasn’t going to Shine in some super role.

At this point something that’s just acceptable is great. I personally think Blueblood was almost too bland and that his trademark snobbiness was almost too useful. It feels like he was sanitized a bit to make the story’s point. It’s less about interaction between the two and more “Shining Armor sits back and realizes he was wrong.”
 
A little more conflict between the two would have been nice, and Blueblood not being absolutely perfect with the yaks is a missed opportunity, really. It really only makes sense with this sanitized version that for some reason is perfectly nice and cool and a great diplomat. Really, are we sure that’s Blueblood and not Twilight using a disguise spell? He kind of reminds me of Twilight.

Really? I though it was ok, but nothing I’d write home about. The characterization of Blueblood was good; doesn’t redeem him as I do believe to be the point, but this does makes him enjoyable and gives him more weight in the word he occupies. Shining’s part on the other hand is pretty eh. Doesn’t really do or say much Shining Armor things which makes his part in this easily replaceable with Cadance, Twi, Luna, and/or Celestia plus it doesn’t give really make for a good dynamic between the two subject matter characters since only one (BB) is really being played up to his character. But hey I rarely read the comics and only viewed this because I just so happened to on the booru at the time plus it had Shining and the Yaks in it.  

It’s nice to see a decent comic for a change. This is exactly how I used to view Blueblood in my mind, unlike many awful demonization pics and works from other fans.

I loved this comic wow great job.

Now, if only you-know-who could get great characterisation like this.

I like the comics in general (with one or two exceptions) but this one looks like it might be the first to achieve near universal praise from the fandom in a long time. This is exactly how I use to imagine blueblood back before I, uh, forgot about him. He really needs another speaking role in the show one of these days.

Good comic the lesson was simple and actually made sense unlike another recent comic I won’t mention here.
 
Of course the pony that’s been a prince his whole life would be better at it then the one who just married into royalty. I bet from Blueblood’s perspective Shining is the one that doesn’t work hard. I kinda wish that was stated by Blueblood because without him even mentioning it he seems so benevolent and perfect.
 
One small thing though is whats up with Blueblood’s height? I thought he was only slightly taller than Big Mac and Shining, but here he looks way taller than them.

I have to say, I think this comic might be the only comic thus far I can truthfully say, with a hand over my heart, that I like and would want to see reflected in the show.
