Background Pony Number 17
My Little Pony - 1992 Edition

"Dear Princess Celestia, my sister used to tell me that she never knew when she was in the middle of one of your lessons and now I know what she was talking about."

Congratulations, Shiny, you’ve finally met Princess Trollestia.

Eh, I haven’t wasted my time reading this thoroughly mediocre comic, so I’d say I’ve got the better of this exchange

Even 4Chan (most of them, anyhow) seem to agree this comic was pretty decent. I think one of them even said it might be the best comic we got in at least 6 months.

@Pagan
I kinda like him this way

Unlike the stereotype of him being a dumb, evil prince, he’s more of a oblivious snob with a friendly side

He may be stuck-up but he’s smart, good with diplomacy, and even friendly as well.

I need more art and stories of Blueblood like this

That comic wasn’t really about the ghost. It was about Twilight and Shining Armor and about siblings love and power. The ghost thing was simply something that came at the end of the story.

There’s only three.
You can PM me if you’re still curious. Otherwise, let’s not detract or distract from the thoughts and comments regarding the BB&Shining comic, which I’m sure many were waiting for. As a side note, the success and interpretation in this means maybe one day we may get a guy-six, if only mentioned in passing. It’d be amusing for Shining to be able to interact with more than just his immediate family and nameless subordinate guards.

It could be. I’ve also chaired several Bronycon writing panels over the last few years. Since Ponydora handled Everfree out west, that leaves a rather limited pool of people who have written Blueblood but also headed fanfiction and writing panels. But that’s neither here nor there. I do believe I will order this comic. I only have one other, a Rarity comic, and this one seems like it will also be a bit of a guilty pleasure.

Oh, and which Rarity comic, out of curiosity? The microseries one with the hippie ponies?

Well, can you name some of your better-known Blueblood work?

Oh ho, this looks interesting. I believe I’ll have to actually get a copy of this. After so long, we finally get a look at Blueblood. For one of the original authors trying to characterize him, not long after the end of season one, seeing a version of him that is a lovable cad is cathartic and quite a delight.

Oh, did you write anything I might’ve heard of?

The one with the weird ghost thing that read to Sombra? I dunno, don’t think I really gave that one any more than a glance. There’s a lot of comics I haven’t fully read just because the characters involved or the subject matters didn’t interest me a whole lot. By no fault of those comics; there’s still a few S5 episodes I haven’t watched for the same reason.

Really, a good chunk of the comics to me are in that category. Might be okay, might be meh, might even be bad, but don’t really involve anything I care much about so they’re no skin off my back. Then there’s the ones I feel have distinct… shortcomings that even I can’t ignore, e.g. Reflections, the deer arc, etc. whichever issues those are.

And then there’s the ones that involve pretty much the only thing I care about. Urgh.

Blueblood being helpful, generous and actually pleasant? He’s good at his job, gets along with his servants and is only slightly annoying this time. I guess he must’ve grown out of his playboy phase (it’s been ages ago after all), but man, what a change.

@Kappe “I have to say, I think this comic might be the only comic thus far I can truthfully say, with a hand over my heart, that I like and would want to see reflected in the show.”

What about “Friends Forever #4” I think that is still the best one of the comics.
