A lot of people say you should trust the audience score and not the critic score (which is still flawed logic) but you can’t trust that one either completely as some people will just mindlessly give incredibly low scores. I remember with games like breath of the wild and Mario Odyssey people who didn’t really like the games or just thought that the score was higher than it deserved take the time super low scores just to bring the score down.  
Of course some even saying that the reviews were obviously bought

I don’t get why review trolls love giving bad scores to random stuff for no reason. They don’t have anything to gain from it. I see even popular games that get say 1,000s of 5-star scores, get at least at leat 100 or more 1-star scores keeping almost everything from getting a perfect score.
 
In a similar sense we have plenty of those on this site, I even saw a guy admit he gets joy from downvoting every Sonic-related pic, (instead of filtering ‘em) just to be a schmuck. I hear the admins are cracking down on people who do that tho’.

Because they’re no less impartial than a critic

Who wants to trust the critic review, if we have fans and audience review.  
Rotten tomato critic give 47% but the google user give it 90% and audience score give 77% on Mlp the movie  
It’s weird how they still make a review about a movie they didn’t like. Some of the mlp haters make fake accounts just to be make false thing about the movie.

and yet you still chose to review it because

The Movie was okay, characters, art, music, and voices were good, as they usually are when DHX works solo, but the mane story ended after one hour, the last half-hour was an entirely separate one. :T

I distinctly recall reviews of the movie that basically went “What? Where are the jokes? Animated movies are supposed to be funny!”

I was hoping there was going to be an actual review in the source. There wasn’t much more than what’s up here.
 
Yeah, I think I’ll stick to Silver Quill and FOME for now.

I dunno, they’ve done alot of popular licensed franchises over the years.
 
I actually hear their “Ninja Turtles meet the Ghostbusters” crossover comic is actually good.

IDW comics is a trash, anyway.

Meta-humor can be great if done correctly, (even MLP:FiM has some clever meta humor, but at least it’s usually more subtle, but even it can be hit or miss sometimes) but nowadays it feels like everything is doing it.
 
Y’know what animation did “meta humor” the best? Looney Tunes, and the Homestar Runner series IMO.

Only Disney/Pixar are allowed to take themselves seriously. Otherwise, critics want meta “humor” and Minions.

It pretty much already is sadly for over a decade, with only a few occasionally ignored 2D movies. It doesn’t help regardless of their quality they get ignored, while movies like the “Emoji Movie” get 4-and-a-half stars on Netflix, and such. Even mediocre CGI movies get more attention, as long as they have the same meta self-aware humor every CGI animated movie has had in the past 20 years.
 
Heck, one critic called “Curious George” outdated, because it used 2D animation for the characters, (I guess all the CGI backgrounds weren’t enough…) despite actually being a decent cute & funny family movie.  
The closest one was to being successful, was “Princess and the Frog,” but even it seems forgotten lately.
 
Don Bluth apparently wants to have his upcoming “Dragon’s Lair” movie be 2D. I hope it gets finished, and I hope it does well.

Really, it’s Rotten Tomatoes that wants 2D animation to die.

He talks like one of those “only season 1/2 iz good” ex-brony folks.
 
I’m curious what “ruined the series 4everz” for him.  
The Royal Wedding? Luna’s mane redesign? Mare Do-Well? Twilicorn? EqG? Starlight Glimmer? Flurry Heart? Derpy talking? Bronies being weird like every other fanbase in existence? The show being “too toy-etic?” His favorite ‘ship being sunk? The “Panda-rings?”  
The possibilities are endless.
 
In a way, it’s a li’l disheartening the show isn’t as popular in the media as it used to be. (Even those whom weren’t fans, used to have a li’l respect for bronies, and we’d always hear about people like Gabe Newell, or the author of VGCats being fans too.) Now it seems more regulated to a more dedicated niche fanbase, and casual fans are hard to come by.

This reviewer seems to be more of a scorned former fan of the franchise than anything.

Many profesional critics view reviewing MLP as something degrading that is beneath them,it feels insulting to have to review pony comics when they were actually dreaming about writing for travel magazines traveling to milan,paris or fiji tasting fine cousine and visiting tourist attractions,same applies to games journalism too.

Just look at the rotten tomatoes scores for the MLP movie with profesional critics tripping over each other trying to one up themselves for who can cringe the most and write the snarkiest rant about how they would rather be doing something else despite the fact that the MLP movie was a financial success that delighted its target audience of children and bronies and had the balls to give 2D animation one last attempt in an ocean of CGI movies.

“Or maybe I shouldn’t review things. Dunno, could be that.”

Why are we still here? Just to suffer?
