Hey, either she will die, or she will be able to reform the body. If she can just reform it after the body dies, it’s still immortality. Just of a different kind.

Also, my headcanon is that she’d totally just die as fast as any other pony - if not even faster because bigger pony = more weight = tighter constriction of the noose.
 
HOWEVER, what happened a thousand years ago would happen again: with the destruction of her body, her soul would inhabit the moon due to her special connection with it, until she can magically re-form a body again.
 
The 1,000 years was probably due to the banishment magic, so she’d probably re-form a lot sooner.

That’s actually my headcanon, too.
 
As for the moon, she was banished “into” it more than “onto” it. Sort of like her soul possessed the moon instead of her body. Hence the craters on the surface shaped like a mare.

But the official chapter books said that Luna and Cellie just age really, really slowly.
