@Mayojar77
>it’s shown that most of the residents of Canterlot are actually dumber than most ponies outside Canterlot
Really now?
>And only Earth Ponies can produce food. This was explained at Hearth’s Warming.
So based off of a play it can be assumed that peguses or unicorns cannot plant a seed and nuture it to grow food? What about Fluttershy, she was shown to be able to grow flowers.
>And Stinking actually was the one that came up with the idea to distribute the things
Your comment stated that he did it alone though.
>And Sapphire Shores and Photo finish may not be high-class, but they are more important to the daily klives of most ponies than a bunch of stuffy nobles
Debatable, and that would be assuming the Nobles do little to nothing.
@lasthorizon
Actually, it’s shown that most of the residents of Canterlot are actually dumber than most ponies outside Canterlot, with exception to those that actually do things for others. And only Earth Ponies can produce food. This was explained at Hearth’s Warming.
@lasthorizon
And Stinking actually was the one that came up with the idea to distribute the things, so you can’t use that as evidence. And as for Clyde, it usually would take years to get that kind of money. And Sapphire Shores and Photo finish may not be high-class, but they are more important to the daily klives of most ponies than a bunch of stuffy nobles.
And I only said that Fancy has ever been shown having the same kind of disposable income as the Earth Pony examples of affluence, judging by the general rich-&-famous social convention of agreeing with everyone richer than you.
@Prof.NightJack
>You sure imply that you think that by always saying something to try and counter the idea of a earth pony villein.
Sorry but I dont really understand what you mean there.
>heck the social structure isn’t saying it’s not possible for all the pony races to be on the same level
If they were on the same level wouldn’t we see atleast a few Earth ponies/Peguses in the aristocratic elite?
@lasthorizon
You sure imply that you think that by always saying something to try and counter the idea of a earth pony villein.
But if you don’t think like that then please stop saying things like you are, heck the social structure isn’t saying it’s not possible for all the pony races to be on the same level, we got at lest one city with mostly one of the races as the main inhabitants. if anything it seem like they are all even.
@Prof.NightJack
>You really think earth ponies can’t be smart, can’t be sly and cunning?
I never said that, I always stated that most probably arent due to the social structure we have seen.
>Well then I guess unicorns can’t be simple minded morons,
Same as above, I never stated they couldn’t.
Well the show has actually had only one unicorn villain which is Sombra and eve he is not a normal unicorn.
We have antagonists from each pony race but not really a any normal pony that could be called a villain. Even Trixie is not really a villain but more of an antagonist and in Magic Duel she was corrupted by that amulet while it gave her powers.
A normal unicorn can’t do much more than an earth pony unless they just happen to have huge magical powers or destruction magic as their special talent which is quite unlikely.
Bascially I just want a villain that is just a normal pony, be it a unicorn, pegasus or an earth pony.
@Mayojar77
>First of all, living in the capital =/= richest and most politically powerful. It also doesn’t mean they’re the most educated.
Well I would want someone that is educated working as the most politicaly powerful. My guess is that they were educated before they took on their positions.
>Second, only Earth Ponies can produce food
I’m sure other races can produce food. They just don’t have the same connection to the earth.
@lasthorizon
You got one think head….
You really think earth ponies can’t be smart, can’t be sly and cunning?
Well then I guess unicorns can’t be simple minded morons, OH WAIT Snips and Snails.
@Mayojar77
>Filthy Rich and his Father
>without outside assistance
The apple families zap apple jam??
>Clyde Pie managed to afford to easily pay Trixie enough bits to purchase an incredibly powerful amplifier artifact
She worked for months to get the money
>Granny Smith effectively started off the single largest family business in Equestria
With the help of her entire family im sure.
>Photo finish is the leading photographer in Equestria
Although possibly upper class, photographer does not qualify as sly and cuning.
>Sapphire Shores is rich enough to afford three of Rarity’s most expensive dresses.
Same as above
>And the only Unicorn we’ve seen who’s got that kind of throwing around money so far is Fancy Pants
That doesnt mean the rest of the canterlot elite don’t have money.
@Background Pony
I know that, i was talking about how I don’t get one some use “commoner” as a label for just earth ponies, or at most pegasus ponies as well…
@lasthorizon
First of all, living in the capital =/= richest and most politically powerful. It also doesn’t mean they’re the most educated.
Second, only Earth Ponies can produce food, therefore, Unicorn farmers are impossible, at most they can only be farmhands(farmhooves?).
@Prof.NightJack
All three species have “commoners” and “extremely successfull” individual. There are rich earth ponies, for example. Trixie on the other hand is a travelling performer (in a wagon).
@lasthorizon
Filthy Rich and his Father both independently developed their own fortunes without outside assistance. Clyde Pie managed to afford to easily pay Trixie enough bits to purchase an incredibly powerful amplifier artifact. Granny Smith effectively started off the single largest family business in Equestria. Photo finish is the leading photographer in Equestria. Sapphire Shores is rich enough to afford three of Rarity’s most expensive dresses.
And the only Unicorn we’ve seen who’s got that kind of throwing around money so far is Fancy Pants, or as I like to call him, Batman McOldmoney.
@Prof.NightJack
Canterlot (presumed to be the capital) is shown to be dominated by unicorns, if their aristocracy is dominated by one race can I not assume that that is the ‘educated’ race? And since I have yet to see a farm toiling Unicron, I will assume that most Earth ponies do the common work, hence commoners. If the series shows more dynamics to it I may change.
@Prof.NightJack
Perhaps I should state more then, Earth ponies are shown to be more humble as well, earth ponies lack the power to even transform into anything sinister. I doubt Aunt and Uncle Orange positions don’t mean they are sly and cunning as well. @Mayojar77
But we havent, so I’m going off of assumption here.
@Mayojar77
Yes, So why someone says “commoner” when they mean earth ponies, and why they think all earth ponies are commoners and thus stupid I do not understand at all…
