It’s a shame that majority prefers seeing fan pandering and epin fandom may mays in the show to actual quality writing. Show staff getting lazy and uncreative knowing that they could just throw some fan based garbage and everyone will lose their shit from happiness and called it “The best thing that happend to the show ewah xDD”.

I think they’re acknowledging the whole “Dinky-is-Derpy’s-daughter” headcanon.
 
I mean, think about it. The whole episode, Pinkie is trying to keep secret about Cadance and Shining Armor’s foal, and all around the town there are ponies with all sorts of baby related things happening to make Pinkie’s job harder. Now here comes a scene with Derpy and Dinky, the fandom’s most popular mother-daughter duo.
 
There is no way that it isn’t intentional.
 
Is it canon? Maybe, but we’ve worked with less.
