@Sarsath
There’s been references to real life languages on the show as well. Applebloom and Fluttershy both used the word French on the show. The planet Equestria is in has also been called Earth by both Celestia and Pinkie Pie too!
Anyways, this is the tweet.

Nothing really wrong with speculating t b h. Equestria is similar to the US and Canada in a way.
@Ihhh
I know that, but for Equestria Girls, but it’s just that I always thought that Equestria Girls took place on Earth. After all, didn’t one of the character in “Legend of Everfree” say the word “Latin” and wasn’t the Mona Lisa in Friendship Games as a cake.
Just a reminder, There are tons of worlds in fiction inhabited by humans or creatures identical to humans, and most of those worlds are a lot like our own in terms of architecture and local geography.

It’s a thousand years into the future after we colonize other worlds. One of the colonies had a massive apocalypse and lost all technology and is rebuilding. Nobody has helped yet because it’s the distant future and there’s no ftl travel and they’re a thousand light years from any other colony, so nobody knows they needed help.
@AaronMk
It’s pretty much not in the united states. EqG takes place in an undefined world. Ishi Rudell confirmed that the movies do not take place on Earth. So it’s a bit moot trying to tie it with a irl location.
