It was a success financially because ALL OF US had high hopes for the movie, so we went to see it in the movie theaters, and it doesn’t change the fact that most of us felt somewhat unsatisfied with the final product, but they already had the money, and there’s nothing we could’ve done to change it.

Hasbro has no incentive to change their mind. The movie didn’t even do as good as they expected. The second movie might not even go to theaters (and it will only exist because they are reusing assets from the first movie).

I think you’re in the first stage of grief: negation.
 
No offense, but I think it would be really unlikely for the developers to continue with the series after S10, and if they do, I think the episodes would turn out to be horrible, I preffer that the show died with good memories than letting the show transform into something like the actual Simpsons or Family guy…
 
So yeah, I would be sad for the show’s ending, but at least they would say goodbye with a good season with good episodes rather than extending the seasons and making more money at expense of the quality.

With this show, things need to be done far in advance. Animation takes more then a year. By this point, they would have needed to have finalized some things with G5 to make the 2020 airdate. Possibly even worked on the scripts by now. Basically it’s highly unlikely that these plans would change. The schedule wouldn’t allow for it.

To be honest, I do think it’s for the best for the series to end at some point. I don’t want the series to go on forever to the point where the writers start to extremely flanderized their characters & run out of ideas, just like what happened to Spongebob, Family Guy, Fairly Odd Parents, Pokemon & ESPECIALLY the Simpsons, shows that’s been on the air for way too long to the point where they became shells of their former selves. Before anyone brings up, yes I know Spongebob has gotten better due to some of the old writers coming back but still you get my point. It’s best for the series to end on a good note.

As long as nothing is confirmed there is a chance for season 10+.  
Plans change all the time.  
I’m not in a hurry to see G5. It can wait a few years longer.
I think there is more than enough potential for at least 11 or 12 seasons without any loss of quality.
For example there are countless characters that deserve to be revisited (Babs Seed, Diamond Tiara/Silver Spoon, Lightning Dust, Rolling Thunder, Short Fuse, Suri Polomare, the Pillars, Gilda/Gabby/Greta, Coco Pommel, Autumn Blaze, Iron Will, Bright Mac and Pear Butter, Sky Stinger and Vapor Trail, Cheese Sandwich, Daring Do, Ahuizotl, Pharynx, Wind Rider, Gladmane and many others)
They can also show Scorpan, Grogar, Katrina, Zebras, Centaurs, Minotaurs, Abessinia and a whole heap of other things one day.
We still have to see the CMC Manehattan, meet other Zebras, hear more stories about AJs parents and learn more about Trixies past and her father.
Spike has yet to meet his real parents.
AND I want Rainbow to reconcile with Lightning and start a friendly rivalry with her.
