BTW, at the very least there a small form of buildup and they became attracted to eachother after sharing a conversation. I don’t hate TimberTwi but the fact that they started flirting before having shared ONE conversation is jarring to say the least. So in retrospect, the writers tried TOO HARD to make it believable to the point where it was too “in-your-face” at times.
 
And for the record, they tried with Flash too, just with small interactions throughout the movies.
 
Also, preferring this over Flashlight doesn’t make much of a difference considering he attracted to PonyTwi.

Far from it. The dude actually tries to connect beyond looks, it starts that way but then they grow closer through dialogue. Flash was just there in the other movies, Timber was a red herring as well as a romantic interest. There is a sense of it being rushed yes, but that can be contributed to time constraints. Bottom line, I would rather see this over Twi and Flash, because the writers at the very least TRIED to make it believable.

A good chunk of those facts are taken from the movies themselves, the only ones that are in headcanon territory are the Police Officer & little brother ideas.
 
As Bronies we’ve been nitpicking small aspects of several characters and giving them their own personalities since the show started, so to whine about Flash being bland while praising Timber for being “better” is not only lazy, but also hypocritical.
 
And at least I’m bringing up SOMETHING to work off of instead of giving up and acting there’s nothing that can be used to give him more personality.
