Episode before this one is about Trixie and Starlight, and they look more like a couple than these two. But sure, skip a whole episode because of two characters who are there for less than half of it.  
Also, you’re missing out on Scootaloo’s milf.

I point out on a different image, the closest they come to pointing out the aunts have something more than being close platonic friends that live together and know each other very well is a hoof-hold near the end.
 
LyraBon in “Slice of Life” was way more explicit about their relationship than here.
 
But knowing how production sees this, its a great wink/shout out to us.

no but for real though, i can’t tell y’all how happy i am to see scootaloo’s parents AND her aunties in the same episode. this is like christmas on my birthday.

Ok having just watched the episode they don’t outright state that they are a couple but its obvious. At the end Holiday says to Lofty “Don’t tease my brother.” not “our brother” meaning that Holiday and Lofty are not related. You could argue that they still aren’t a couple and are just friends living together; but even with out the previous stuff saying they are a couple that line and the hoof holding alone makes it a pretty hard sell.

That wing pose just looks odd. Also hey look, 200 comments.
