Regarding pegasus wings, the few times X-rays have been shown, pegasus wings seem to have longer bones than you’d expect.
 
And Earth Ponies should all be more like Pinkie, lol.

It has been established in later seasons that pegasus wings are basically hands with feathers that can make you fly.  
Between the whole “wings are hands” and “horns are OP in species with no hands” I can honestly say, that is sucks to be earth pony.  
Even show adresses low power of earth ponies (like in that Maud Pie stand-up)

Whoa, this season is really pulling out all the stops.

Yeah, I’m not sure they’ve been shown to be used for something a bit on the heavier side, like a suitcase before.

But yeah, I did noticed that on the internet when people believe they are “right” they start to be less nice.  
It is similar to celebrities that are complete hypocrites. Y’know, these that are all “pro green” and anti-co2-emission, who got caught red-handed flying private jets or using humvees as a prime method of transport.

I understand the frustration but that much hostility is not healthy in a community.

It may have to do with the “antigay” people constantly making these comments, often times without simply using their filters and moving on (at least in the case with ship art). It gets really annoying after a while.
 
Also, some people on the “progay” side happen to be gay themselves so it does bother some people. So yeah, it does bother them and I can see and understand why.

Not to mention that outside the whole “are they gay or not?” game hasbro is playing with the more conservative countries, there’re no “obvious” gays in the whole show.  
They even subverted the whole “tomboy with rainbow colors is a butchy lesbian” trope!
