Uggggh. Again, that isn’t the case. In fact some of us are glad that’s no longer reviewing MLP after his most recent reviews.

So… The reason you don’t like Digibro anymore is because he stopped reviewing MLP? That’s about the only think I can think. Let people move on, We’re not a cult! “You live by the pony, you die by the pony” No! Let the guy do what he wants! There’s plenty of MLP annalists out there!

While I agree with this, I don’t see how one can expect anything different in a fandom that’s decided “love and tolerate” is an embarrassing joke.

To be honest, while he’s entitled to his opinions, it’s quite surprising to see somebody who likes the S3 finale, and hates the S4 one. Most fans feel the opposite.
 
Even though, I don’t hate the S3 finale, even I feel the S4 one was much better, and more entertaining. I also liked how said episode finally touched on the only thing I had a beef with S4 on, that being Twilight’s new “princess” status not amounting to anything, hardly ever being regarded, or not bringing anything new to her character, or the show. (Ironically, something that was a fear most other fans not keen on “Twilicorn” had.) So it was nice to see some regard over that, and some more development over Twilight’s princess role.
 
I also loved how they brought back a G1-villain, something they don’t do often in the show, but something I’ve always wanted them to do.

The “ridiculous explanations of how inconsistencies came up” part. I like Twilicorn all-and-all, but understand that it strains narrative coherence with regards to alicorns, princesses, and narrative progression, thus cannot really defend the concept without pulling explanations out of my ass…like what Digibrony was doing at the time.

So…Digibrony is the new CR?

I gave up on him a while before that, when he was continuing to reach (read: bend over backwards) for explanations for inconsistencies within the narrative in the show after MMC

Uh, no. It’s not the negativity of the reviews, but the justification for said negativity. I can’t speak for the others, but in my case, it was when he used auteur theory to criticise “Twilight’s Kingdom”; and as I’ve said before: Auteur theory does not apply to this show!

Well then in that case, he’s not nothing of value. Writing people off and acting like you coldly don’t care works and feels good in the short term, but it’s an attitude that will fuck your own psyche in the long term.
